Dear student

Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) 2015-16 Starting Monday 8th June

The EPQ is an independent research project on a topic of the student’s choice which must be an extension of their A-level study. Students produce either a 5000 word essay or an artefact support- ed by a 1500 word report. Students are taught research skills and provided with non-specialist su- pervision to guide them through the research process. The EPQ attracts UCAS points up to A* and is highly regarded by Russell Group Universities – it is cited as a factor used by top uni- versities to shortlist candidates applying to competitive courses.

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) course at St Brendan’s is starting on 8th June 2014 – students’ first week back in college after the AS exams.

For more information please email me (Natalie Boyd) or speak to any of your teachers/tutors. In- formation is also available on the EPQ noticeboard behind reception and from the Marketing office in Café Max. There is also information available to download via the Moodle home page and from the college website.

To pick up the EPQ course, identify your ideal session time from the attached timetable, fill in and return the tear off slip to me in room B16 before 14th May. (An email with relevant details to nb@st- brn.ac.uk is also acceptable.)

Yours sincerely,
