These labor categories and descriptions apply to SINs 899-1, 899-7, and 899-8.

Principal - Bachelor degree with minimum of 20 years of experience. Responsible for all operational and program aspects of the company. Oversees the schedule performance of environmental planning activities for projects. Provides and demonstrates leadership, clear communication, mentoring, and empowerment of staff. Analyzes local, state and national trends, policies and/or legislation to determine impact. Provides information and support to staff, governmental officials, clients, and the public. Makes presentations to clients, government officials, and industry representatives.

Program Manager - Bachelor degree with minimum 15 years of experience. Oversees the schedule performance of environmental planning activities for projects. Provides and demonstrates leadership, clear communication, mentoring, and empowerment of staff. Analyzes local, state and national trends, policies and/or legislation to determine impact. Provides information and support to staff, governmental officials, clients, and the public. Responsible for Quality Assurance/Quality Control.

Project Manager - Bachelor degree with minimum 5 years of experience. Responsible for implementing the schedule performance of environmental planning activities for projects. Provides and demonstrates leadership, clear communication, mentoring, and empowerment of staff. Duties typically include client interface, budget management, staff/project team management, and invoicing/project reporting. Has specialized area in the environmental sciences.

Hydrologist - Bachelor degree with minimum 2 years of experience. Conducts environmental site investigations and assessments. Studies distribution, disposition, and development of waters of land areas. Must understand the principles and practices employed in hydrology, water supply, drainage, flood control, surface water, ground water, conservation, and other related aspects of hydrology;

statistical analysis methods; computer operations; basic legal requirements governing public hydrologic programs; the permitting and environmental review requirements of water development projects.

Senior Biologist - Bachelor degree with a minimum 10 years of experience or master’s degree with minimum of 5 years of experience. Serves as technical manager for projects and often works as a key client interface. Studies basic principles of plant and animal life, such as origin, relationship, development, anatomy, and functions: May collect and analyze biological data to determine environmental effects of present and potential use of land and water areas, record data, and inform public, state, and federal representatives regarding test results. May prepare environmental impact reports.

Biologist - Bachelor degree with minimum 2 years of experience. Studies basic principles of plant and animal life, such as origin, relationship, development, anatomy, and functions. Senior Environmental Scientist - Bachelor degree with minimum 10 years of experience or master’s degree with minimum 5 years of experience. Serves as technical manager for projects and often works as a key client interface. Responsible for managing technical project tasks. Experienced with regulations and controls for prevention of air, land, and water pollution. Conduct research to find pollutants or hazards in the environment and then propose a plan to eliminate them, all the while maintaining a balance between the needs of the natural environment and the economic needs of workers and industries. May specialize in a particular aspect of the environment, such as land conservation, hazardous or toxic waste removal and disposal, groundwater contamination, acid rain, or wildlife preservation.

Environmental Scientist - Bachelor degree with minimum 2 years of experience. Experienced with regulations and controls for prevention of air, land, and water pollution. Conduct research to find pollutants or hazards in the environment and then propose a plan to eliminate them, all the while maintaining a balance between the needs of the natural environment and the economic needs of workers and industries. Works under direct supervision.

Environmental Planner - Bachelor degree with minimum 2 years of experience. Supports the work of planners and engineers performing complex planning activities. Analyzes local, state and national trends, policies and/or legislation to determine impact under direction of supervisor.

Geologist – Bachelor degree with minimum 2 years of experience. Conducts environmental site investigations and assessments. Responsibilities may include conducing soil borings and monitoring well installations; performing field tests and collecting field data and samples; monitoring remedial construction sites; and compiling data and preparing reports.

Auto CAD/GIS Specialist - Bachelor degree with minimum 2 years of experience. Must possess knowledge and have hands-on experience with GIS that includes ESRI ArcMap Software Suite for map production and spatial analysis. Experience with CAD, relational databases, or Visual Basic a plus. Responsibilities include map production, GIS data management, spatial analysis of environmental data using ESRI ArcMap software, GPS unit setup and tech support, data management and reporting using relational data bases. Works conducted under direction of supervisor.

Senior Technical Editor - Bachelor degree with minimum of 10 years of experience or master’s degree with minimum 8 years of experience. Manages editing and document production; coordinates with senior management team and may also serve as a direct client interface during the editing/ production process; oversees staff and/or contractors. Technical editing involves writing or editing technical materials. Draw on a substantial knowledge to develop informational materials and to select and present information in a form and at a level suitable for the intended audience. Requires knowledge of a broad range of sources of pertinent information; skill to analyze and present the information gathered; and knowledge of publishing practices, standards, and technologies for the media used.

Administrative Support - High school diploma with minimum 2 years of experience with accounting background; Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred. Performs administrative and office support activities for multiple supervisors. Duties may include fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, filing, and faxing. Extensive software skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities and strong communication skills. May also prepare reports and financial data.
