Dear World of Inquiry School Families and Students,

Welcome to the secondary program at the World of Inquiry School. We are eagerly preparing for the upcoming school year and look forward to working with you. Please note the following important information:

 The first day for students is Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

 All secondary students are expected to arrive at 7:00am. Breakfast will be served from 7:00- 7:25am. Classes will begin promptly at 7:30. All students are expected to attend Advisory Crew from 7:30-7:53 each day. o All secondary students will use the main entrance located on University Avenue for arrival. Students will be subject to random scanning and screening in collaboration with school administrators and campus security. We are in the process of reviewing our current cell phone policy. Final decisions will be shared prior to the opening of school. o Dismissal is at 2:30pm. Students will be dismissed through the main doors on University Avenue. Students who are assigned to smaller yellow buses or for parent pick-up will be directed to the Scio Street parking lot/loop. Parents should not park on University Avenue or neighboring businesses during dismissal. Parents can park in the Downstairs Cabaret lot or do quick pick-up by pulling through the Scio Street lot. Parking or standing is not an option in the Scio Street lot.

 Please see the attached documents for information about school uniforms, reading and supply lists. We are excited to offer the updated uniform policy.  ALL 7 th grade students and all NEW 8th through 12th grade students are required to attend our secondary orientation on August 30th from 6:00-8:00pm with a parent or guardian. Current 8-12 students are asked not to attend as space and materials are limited. Parking is available in the Downstairs Cabaret Lot.

 All students must complete the reading assignments by Friday, September 8, 2017.

 All 7th through 12th grade students will receive another mailing specific to sports/athletics in early August. For additional information, please contact Donna Enright (Athletic Director). Ms. Enright’s email address is: [email protected].

 Information about modified sports for grades 7-8 will be shared at the orientation on August 30, 2017.

 Transportation information will be provided by RCSD Central Office. The district is in the process of completing plans for secondary transportation. Please contact the transportation department at 585-336-4000 with any questions or concerns.

 Lastly, we have included the Student Opt-Out form. Please complete and return this form to the main office if you do not want to release photographs, videos and/or information to outside agencies, colleges or military.
