The County of Fresno has issued Request for Proposal Number 962-4837, which solicits proposals for Attorney Services for Fresno County Civil Service Commission. This bid closes on May 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.

The County of Fresno is soliciting proposals to contract with an attorney to provide legal counsel to its Civil Service Commission. The Civil Service Commission oversees a merit system of selection and retention of County employees in the classified service as authorized by the Fresno County Ordinance (http://library2.municode.com/default-test/home.htm? infobase=16361&doc_action=whatsnew) and Personnel Rules (http://www.co.fresno.ca.us/DepartmentPage.aspx?id=4806). The attorney must be licensed by the State Bar of California and should be experienced in employment, labor and administrative hearing law including some governmental legal experience. The anticipated contract will be approximately 200-500 hours annually (12-month period), including one required monthly meeting (about 1 hour in duration) and up to six hearings per month, scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, generally between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
