Instructions. Please respond on loose-leaf paper in ink. Do not type response. The objective is to write about yourself as a reader and a writer and not to answer all the questions. The Prompt
Describe yourself as a reader-writer. Just imagine you are sitting around with some friends who enjoy a lot of the same things you do. During the ebb and flow of the conversation, you talk about yourself as a reader and as a writer.
(Warning! We are in a world of make-believe. This self-revelation occurring in the real world could be dangerous unless you are a professional. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ACTIVITY ORALLY, WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISION.)
As a reader… do you like to read? do you read a lot on your own? Since you’ve been in high school? do you remember the first book or books you read…how much reading did you do during elementary-school age? what kinds of books have you read…do you like to read poetry…plays…short stories…magazines…newspapers? do you usually read assigned reading in all your classes…what are a few of your favorite reads…why…or what did you like about them? what haven’t you read that you’d like to…do you find and read books on your own, or do you rely on others for assignments or recommendations? is reading ever recreation for you? other thoughts?
