Lab 1 Assignment: Personal Data Management  Hand in a 4 Generation Pedigree Chart starting with you from your Roots Magic file.

Lab 2 Assignment: GEDCOMs  Hand in a 4 Generation Pedigree Chart starting with Ruth Snow Andersen using the dummy Roots Magic file you created showing that you have imported the GEDCOMs and merged duplicate individuals.

Lab 3 Assignment: New FamilySearch

 Hand in a 4 Generation Pedigree Chart starting with you from NFS that shows the living and deceased linked together.

Lab 4 Assignment: NFS—Synchronization  Hand in a 5 Generation Pedigree Chart starting with you from your Roots Magic File with correct place names and LDS ordinances included.

Lab 5 Assignment: Research Process  Hand in a Family Group Sheet of the family you are going to research. Write your objectives on the back.  Begin filling out the research log detailing all searches made and information found.  Save all documents/images in your Images folder.

Lab 6 Assignment: Ancestry and Record Search  Hand in a copy of your research log showing searches made on Ancestry or the Record Search pilot. Write a summary of your experience researching on the back of your log.  Save all documents/images in your Images folder.

Lab 7 Assignment: Editing Images and Creating Sources  Edit all images and attach them in your Roots Magic file. Print all images and put in your Book of Remembrance.  Hand in a Family Group Sheet for the family you are researching with sources included from your Roots Magic file.

Lab 8 Assignment: Research – 4 Websites  Hand in a copy of your research log showing searches made on FamilySearch Labs, Footnote, World Vital Records, Heritage Quest, and any others on the list. Write a summary of your experience researching on the back of your log.  Save all documents/images in your Images folder.

Lab 9 Assignment: Research – 4 Websites  Hand in a copy of your research log showing searches made on Rootsweb, USGenWeb or WorldGenWeb, Find a Grave, RAOGK, and any others on the list. Write a summary of your experience researching on the back of your log.  Save all documents/images in your Images folder.

Lab 10 Assignment: Temple Submission  Using the NFS, submit names of individuals who are ready for temple work.  Hand in the “Temple Ordinances” worksheet given out in lab.
