Meeting April 11, 11:30 at the Holiday Inn

At this meeting, we will to bring you up to date on a number of issues the board of directors has been working on. The CASA project is wrapping up, and Brittany Ragsdale of Sugg Homes will fill you in. Showcase of Homes 2007 is underway but in a new subdivision. There are many topics we want to discuss with you. Regular programs will resume next month.

Home & Garden Show a Huge Success

This year the Home & Garden Show was a great financial success. A big thanks to all the vendors that put on the best looking show that we ever had. We also thank the folks at DeWalt for bringing their car and display to Jonesboro. Attendance was off this year, probably due to great weather. We appreciate all of you that volunteered to work the gate with Rick Wyatt of Regions Bank. Keith Cragg of Center Point Energy had a successful fish fry again this year. Scotty Hickson of Razorback Concrete and Kevin Williams were there all weekend getting people set up and handling any problems that arose. Stephanie Nelson and Riley VanHorn , of Nelson Design Group, arranged all of our media this year, and that was a big relief. David Tennison kept up with the signage and parking. All the numbers are not in yet, but it looks like the show will generate at least $18,000 for the association. Thanks again to everyone that worked on this project.

CASA Playhouses on Display

Be sure and get by the Mall at Turtle Creek and see the five playhouses built by our members. This was the quickest project I have ever been a part of. I think it is going to raise a lot of money for a very good cause. All members of the association can take pride in the fact that our association made this possible with our donations to CASA. We still need to be sure and thank Brittany Ragsdale of Sugg Homes for chairing this project, as well as building one of the houses. The other builders were John Perry & Rob Hester of Stonebridge Const. Co., Tommy Lovrien of TL Const., Todd Wilcox of H & W Construction, and Sid Pickle of HP Development. Showcase of Homes 2007

This year’s showcase is finally up and running. We have five homes to be built and ready by October. The subdivision is Stoneridge Estates, a Rick Turman Development. This year’s builders are John Perry & Rob Hester of Stonebridge Construction Co., Brittany Ragsdale of Sugg Homes, Stacy French Construction, Greg Griffin of Griffin Land Properties, and Rick Turman. All profits from the Rick Turman home will go to the NEA HBA when sold. This has tremendous potential for our association. We are very thankful to Rick & Sherry Turman for their generous support of the HBA. This adds a new dimension to the showcase and we are going to need everyone’s help to make this a big success. We are asking everyone to try and get something donated to the HBA house. A lot more details on this will be forthcoming.

Now is the Time to Buy a House.

This will be the theme of an ad campaign that we plan to launch by the end of April and run thru the month of May. We have applied for a grant from the National Association for $5,000. We would need to match that in order to get the money. The board of directors has appropriated $2,500. Since these ads will benefit realtors as well as builders, we will be asking the various Real Estate Brokers to go in with us on this campaign. Ask your real estate agent to participate in this ad campaign. We can put their logo at the bottom of the page along with ours. We plan on putting these ads in the Jonesboro Sun, Celebrate Magazine and Northeast Arkansas Business Today.
