9 Simplify - 4 + (-50) – (-100) - 4 – 50 + 100 - 54 + 100 + 46 10 Perimeter of a triangle = sum of the sides = 75 cm + 83 cm + 46 cm = 204 cm SECTION C 11 Without repeating any digit write the smallest and largest possible 5 digit numbers having 7 in tens place. 10273 Smallest 98675 Largest 12 Estimate the sum by rounding off to nearest hundreds. 1,08,734 + 47,599 108700 + 47600 156300 13 Find the product using suitable rearrangement 8 X 291 X 125 125 X 8 X 291 1000 X 291 291000 14 Evaluate using property a) 839 × 7 + 839 × 2 + 839 839 (7 + 2 + 1) 839 × 10 8390 b) 839 × 161 + 839 ×61 839 × ( 161 — 61 ) 839 × 100 83900

15 Using divisibility test determine whether the following numbers are divisible by the numbers written against them a) 70169308 (by 11) 7 + 1 + 9 + 0 = 17 0 + 6 + 3 + 8 = 17 17 – 17 =0 Hence 70169308 is divisible by 11. b) 61234 (by 8) 234 ÷ 8 = 27 Since last 3 digits are not divisible by 8. Hence 61234 is not divisible by 8. 16 Given a triangle XYZ. Name the a) Sides opposite to vertex Y. XZ b) Angle opposite to side YZ. X c) Vertex opposite to side XZ. Y 17 Observe the given figures and name T S a) One pair of opposite sides. TS and QR or any other b) Two diagonals. TR and QS c) One pair of adjacent angles. Q R LQ and LR or any other 18 Use number line and add the following integers. a) 9 + (-6) = +3 b) (-2) + (-7) = (-9)

19 What is the cost of levelling a rectangular plot of land 500 m. long and 200 m. wide at the rate of Rs 8 per sq. m. Area of the rectangular Plot = l X b =500 m X 200 m = 10,000 m2 Cost of tiling 1 m2 = Rs 8 Cost of tiling 10,000 m2 = 8 X 10000 = Rs 80000 20 Sweety runs around a square park of side 75 m. Bulbul runs around a rectangular park with length 60 m. and breadth 45 m. Who covers less distance? Distance covered by Sweety : 4 x Side = 4 x 75 m = 300 m Distance covered by Bulbul : 2 x (l + b) = 2 x (60 + 45) m = 2 x 105 m = 210 m Bulbul covered 90 m less distance. SECTION D 21. On World Environment Day, each student was asked to either plant a tree or to adopt a tree in the neighbour hood. The following is the record of the trees planted: Neem - 2150, Ashoka - 1750, Mango -3225 and Eucalyptus - 1255 . 3450 students adopted the trees in their neighbourhood .

i) Write the number of total trees planted in Indian place value system. 8380 ii) What is the difference of the place values of the digit 8 in the number obtained in i) part? 8000.80= 7920 iii) What value is depicted by the above act? Care for nature etc.

22. Find the value using property and write the name of the property. a) 81265 × 60 + 81265 × 40 = 81265 × (60 + 40 ) = 81265 × 100 = 8126500 (Distributive Property) b) 731×99 731 X (100 – 1) 731 X 100 – 731 X 1 73100 -731 72369 ( Distributive Property)

23 Shelly got 49 marks in Maths, 38 marks in English and 51 marks in Science. Deepti got 46marksin Maths, 62 in English and 54 in Science. What are their total marks and whose score is better? (Use suitable rearrangement) 49 + 38 + 51 46 + 62 + 54 49 + 51 + 38 46 + 54 + 62 100 + 38 100 + 62 138 162 Deepti’s score is More.

24 Find the LCM of 12, 16, 24 and 36. 2 12 , 16 , 24 , 36 2 6 8 12 18 2 3 4 6 9 2 3 1 3 9 3 1 1 1 3 3 1 1 1 1 LCM : 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3=144 25 Three tankers contain 403 liters, 434 liters and 465 liters of diesel respectively. Find the maximum capacity of container that can measure the diesel of the three containers exact number of times.

13 403 2 434 3 465 31 31 7 217 5 155 1 31 31 31 31 1 1

The common factor of 403, 434 and 465 is 31.Thus the HCF is 31.Thus the maximum capacity of the required container is 31 liters. 26 Draw a circle of radius 4 cm and show i) Centre O ii) Radius OL iii) Segment PQ iv) Sector XOY 27 Fill in the blanks using <, > or =, also show the working. i) (-25) – (-42) _>___ (-42) – (-25) - 25 + 42 - 42 + 25 + 17 > - 17 ii) (-7) + (-8) + (-90) __<__ (-8) – (-7) + (-90) - 7 – 8 – 90 - 8 + 7 – 90 - 105 - 98 + 7 - 105 < -91 28 The sum of two integers is -337.Ifone of them is 250, find the other. Let the other integer be x x + (250) = -337 x = -337-250 x = -587 The other integer is -587. 29 Perimeter = 2 ( l + b ) = 2 ( 35+ 25 ) = 2 X 60 = 120 cm

Cost of Framing = 120 X 6 = 720 Rs

30 How many tiles whose length and breadth are 12 cm and 5 cm respectively will be needed to fit in a rectangular region whose length and breadth are respectively 100 cm and 144 cm. Number of tiles needed = Area of region/Area of one Tile = 100 cm x 144 cm / 12 cm x 5 cm = 240 tiles 31 A rope 720 m long is twisted to make a equilateral triangle. Find the side of the triangle so formed. Also, if the same rope is folded to form a square find the area of the square. Side of the equilateral triangle = 720/3 m = 240 m Side of the square = 720 m ÷ 4 = 180 m Area of the square = (side)2 = (180 m)2 = 180 m x 180 m = 32400 m2
