Position Purpose: Locum cover for Sabbatical leave of Staff Neonatologist in the provision of clinical and administrative cover in a tertiary NICU/SCN.

Qualifications: Registered Medical Practitioner with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Medical practitioner holding relevant postgraduate qualifications in Neonatal Paediatrics, including eligibility for Specialist registration in Australia.

Position may be held by suitably trained neonatologist undergoing assessment by Australian Medical Council.

Experience and training in all aspects of modern neonatal intensive care, including the use of High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation and the use of inhaled Nitric Oxide therapy

Clinical:  Share the care of infants in Special  Satisfactory clinical performance Care Nursery on an approximately 1:8  Demonstrated ability to lead team fortnightly cycle (varies with leave effectively commitments)  Good risk management and OH&S  Night and weekend cover of Special performance Care Nursery and Neonatal Intensive  Care of families and staff in NICU Care on 1:8 roster ( varying with leave commitments )  1 weekly Paediatric Outpatient Clinic  Growth and Development Clinic  Parent support and counseling  Night cover during on-call periods will be resident in hospital

Administrative:  Administrative assistance with routine Complete administrative tasks as directed Department management as directed  Participation in and further  Attend and contribute to unit QA activities

Academic:  To conduct and publish clinical and/or  Involvement in teaching programme laboratory research in the field of  Assistance in recruitment and data Neonatology gathering for departmental studies  To generate funding to support this  Locum position will have limited research expectation of personal research  Supervision of research activity by programme, main expectation will be junior medical or scientific staff cooperation with Departmental projects  Teaching of postgraduate trainees in Pediatrics and Neonatology  Teaching of postgraduate nursing students  Teaching of undergraduate medical students.
