After School Sports

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the new school year! It’s that time again - New Eagle’s after-school sports program will begin on Tuesday, September 14, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. During the school year the program will be offered on Tuesday for second graders, Wednesday for fourth graders and Thursday for third graders from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Students will be ready to go home promptly at 4:30 p.m. in front of the school. Occasionally we have had a problem with kids not being picked up on time. If students are picked up late (more than 10 min) on more than two occasions we will be asking them to not participate in Afters. This is necessary due to other commitments we have after school hours. If you need to pick your child up before 4:30 please come down to the gym, they may not wait for you out front alone.

The school year will be divided into two sessions, approximately 10 weeks per session. Session 1 will run from the week of September 19th until the week of November 28th. Session 2 will run from the week of January 30th to the week of April 16th. If the day assigned to a grade needs to change for session 2 - advance notice will be given. Any second, third, or fourth grade student that wishes to participate in the program may do so for one session. Each session will be limited to forty kids.

We understand that transportation can sometimes be an issue. If you need help with transportation please sign the bottom and return to Mrs. Ryan. If you are able to help another parent with transportation please indicate that at the bottom as well. Once all permission slips are turned in I will compile a list of parents who can provide transportation to the parents who need help. It will be up to those parents to make the necessary arrangements. If you are unable to provide or arrange transportation please let me know as soon as possible.

Once all students who wish to participate have turned in their insurance waivers and behavior contracts they will be divided into two groups. A letter will go out letting each participant know which session that they are assigned to.

During the course of the school year there are occasions when after-school sports needs to be canceled, sometimes on short notice. In that event, children need to know what they are to do. Please discuss and plan for this possibility with your child. Whenever possible, students will be notified in advance if Afters are being canceled.

If you wish for your child(ren) to participate, please fill out the attached insurance questionnaire and behavior contracts ASAP. Students must turn these forms in to me in order to participate.
