Bunker Hill Complex Update Quick Facts Wednesday, July 1, 2015, 9:00 a.m. Incident Summary Approximate Fire Information: (541) 787-4332 Size: 362 acres Fire Lemolo Lake Resort and the Forest Service Campgrounds at Poole Containment: 50% Incident Comman- Brett Fillis Creek and East Lemolo remain open. Bunker Hill, Inlet, and der: Crystal Springs Campgrounds are closed to protect public safety. Hand Crews: 15 Helicopters: 4 Resources on the Engines: 10 Fire: Location- The Bunker Hill Complex is located 15 miles north of Dozers: 1 Diamond Lake, in Southern Oregon. The fire complex resulted from Water Tenders: 7 lightning activity on June 26th and consists of one larger fire called the Total Personnel: 370 Bunker Hill Fire and six small fires ranging from 1/10 to 9 acres, all USDA-Forest Service burning within the Umpqua National Forest. Umpqua National For- est Jurisdiction: Diamond Lake Ranger Operations – Three of the six smaller fires have been placed in a District monitoring status and all visible hot spots have been extinguished. The three other small fires will continue to be mopped up and will be Facebook controlled very soon. Excellent progress has been made on the Bunker Hill Fire. The northern and north-eastern fire perimeters are very solid as Bunker hill Complex crews have extinguished all burning material up to 200’ from Twitter containment lines. Today, fire crews are expected to finish burn out Social Media: @BunkerHillCmplx operations above Lemolo Lake along the southern flanks of the fire, Fire Inciweb managers will continue to be alert to newly discovered fire starts from the Inciweb.nwg.govinci- dent/4328 June 26 lightning event. Additional air and fire-fighting resources will be available should they be needed and for initial attack efforts on any newly detected fires.

Weather and Fire Behavior – Temperatures will be slightly higher and the relative humidity (the amount of moisture in the air) is expected to be at 25%, with a chance that some areas may reach as low a 20% today. Light winds are predicted for most of the day with a slight increase late in the afternoon or early evening. These conditions should increase the fire behavior and support more isolated “torching” which are small clus- ters of trees and vegetation that flare-up quickly and create additional smoke.

Closures – An Emergency Area Closure for Public Health and Safety is in effect for an area north of Lemolo Lake. Current restrictions and closure information is located at: http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/Umpqua.
