Job Description: HR Business Partner Position Type: Staff

Department: Human Resources Classification: Exempt

Job Summary The HR Business Partner is an experienced Human Resources professional, who has a broad knowledge and understanding of all HR related disciplines. The HR Business Partner builds valuable relationships with internal clients and functions as a strategic member of the HR and Operations team. The partner interacts with front line management on a daily basis providing timely solutions to a variety of requests to and from the business units. A successful business partner adds value to the Organization through their deep knowledge and understanding of internal customers, employees, clients, and key business processes.

Summary of Essential Job Functions  Acts as a single point of the contact for the employees and managers in the business unit  Proactively supports the delivery of HR processes at the client’s side; this includes routine trips to multiple sites to ensure healthy employee engagement and support  Manages complex and difficult HR projects cross-functionally  Designs creative solutions that result in sustainable positive change in the work place while living our Inupiat values  Builds a strong business relationship with the internal client  Actively identifies gaps and opportunities through use of metrics; proposes and implements changes necessary to minimize risk and achieve objectives  Oversees the development of Recruiting strategies to best support client initiatives  Facilitates conversations with the management team to bring the best solutions for employees  Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in the management of people  Designs succession and development plans for key talent and key positions  Conducts individual coaching sessions and 360 degree feedbacks for key and future client leaders; also conducts HR and leadership related training for various sized groups  Acts as a member of the HR Management Team  Develops HR team members to become HR Business Partners  Manages and leads a team of HR Consultants  Provides leadership and education in AES zero-incident safety culture and assumes personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, or Business Administration with a minimum of five years related experience or training required. A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.
