Expression of Interest Kitchener Public School - Stage 2 Class Teacher

Expressions of interest are invited from teachers interested in a career opportunity relieving in the position of classroom teacher from Week 10 Term 1 for the remainder of the year. The position with be located at:

Kitchener Public School (enrolment 78 including 9 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students) is an active member of the Cessnock Community of Great Public Schools. The school is located six kilometres south of Cessnock and draws students from Kitchener, Abernethy, Quorrobolong and some surrounding areas. The school’s motto of ‘One for All’ promotes individual progression and attainment for the greater good of the local community.

The school has a strong focus on academic, social, sporting and environmental programs as well as high expectations for all students and supporting the needs of the 21st century learner.

The school welfare policy is driven by Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) processes and promotes the universals of Safety, Respect and Responsibility.

Selection criteria

Approval to teach K-6 with an emphasis on 3-6 with demonstrated ability to utilise data to inform teaching practice and the promotion of high expectations for students

Demonstrated ability to implement and deliver high quality differentiated programs across all curriculums that meet the diverse needs of all students.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively in a small school environment, enhancing partnerships and building positive relationships within the community

Ability to add value to extend and enrich the students, staff and community of Kitchener Public School

One of the referees listed must be the applicant’s current principal or supervisor for non-school-based staff. Expressions of interest must not exceed 2 A4 pages and require the signature of the applicant’s current principal or supervisor.
