Quality Control

1) Personnel a) Picking – Personnel assigned to pick orders should be thoroughly familiar with WWA procedures as well as the customer’s when picking their products for shipment. Training on product codes, lot control, location picking, stacking requirement, staging areas and tagging for pallet count. b) Checking – Supervisor or lead personnel have the responsibility of checking the order for accuracy in correct product code, correct quantities, correct lot codes after being picked and staged. c) Loading – The shipment is again checked for accuracy and that the carrier has received the total shipment. d) Hours available - Schedule inbounds during the early morning shift and out-bounds for afternoon and evening shift. This should allow for the orders that are received today and must ship today time for shipping without incurring overtime. e) Scheduling – Supervisory or lead personnel should control the sequence of picks and the personnel and equipment needed to meet the daily schedule of activity. f) Follow-up - Verifying all orders have been picked, all orders shipped, all paperwork is audited for signatures, piece counts and distribution of copies, and returned to Customer Service. 2) Equipment a) Assigned equipment to ensure adequate coverage for the daily volumes b) Clean, well maintained equipment c) Slipsheet and clamps available for floor loads. 3) Timing a) Orders received from customer should be processed timely to ensure that all standards are met for product availability, appointment scheduling, consolidation opportunities, order pick and loading. b) Transportation releases orders showing consignee appointment times and pick-up times. c) Common carriers and customer pick-up orders are noted as above to avoid any delay upon arrival of the carrier. d) Carriers to sign in and sign out to avoid any issues with wait times. e) Appointments scheduled with the consignee to meet requested delivery date. 4) Transportation a) Transportation will forward orders to warehouse as soon as the appointments are obtained to facilitate schedule of personnel and equipment. b) Transportation should ensure trailer availability for timely loading. c) Drivers will count and sign Bill of Lading accepting the load as complete and accurate. d) Transportation will monitor driver activity to ensure loads are picked up and on course for timely delivery. e) Follow-up with Customer Service and customer if any variance occurs 5) Follow-up a) Verify daily schedule is complete b) Check unshipped orders are in compliance c) Paperwork is complete and accurate d) Confirm out of system timely e) Monitor open order report f) Dialog with the customer is open and ongoing.
