Mrs., Anna H. Evans Dies This Morning Mrs., Anna Hannon Evans, of R.R.3, Troy, died at 11:05 a.m. today at her home after a nine-month illness. She had been seriously ill about two months. Born in Letcher County, Ky., Mrs. Evans, 76, came to Troy with her husband – the late Albert Evans – in 1942 from Washington C.H. They were married in 1911 in Kentucky. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are sons and daughters, Mrs. Everett (Belle) Johnson, Mrs. Manuel (Mary) Ward, Wilburn Bentley, Julius and Denver Evans, all of Troy and Douglas Evans of Turner, Mich. Stepchildren, Miss Lou Evans of Kenova, W. Va.; Mrs. Pearl Broughton, Frankfort, O., and Robert Evans, Troy: brothers, Irvin Wright of Neon, Ky., and Eliza of Garrison, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Nancy Quillen of Garrison. Three half-sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Potter of Covington, O., Mrs. Martha Ratcliff of Huntington, W. Va., and Mrs. Lavada Ratcliff of Frankfort, Ky.; two half-brothers, Columbus Reedy of Troy and J. Monroe Reedy of Huntington; 30 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Irvin-Deeter funeral home Friday afternoon and evening. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Dixie, Troy, mother of Mrs. Richard Wilcox (Lois) of Piqua, were held at 2 p.m. today in the Quillen Cemetery at Greenup, Ky. Mrs. Johnson died Saturday at her residence. She was a native of Letcher County, Ky. Her husband, Everett, died in 1960. Surviving also are four sons, Arthur, James, and Jim of Troy and Lowell of Miami, Fla.; four other daughters, Mrs. Rufus Miller of North Shore, Ky., Mrs. Elwood Brown of Lloyd, Ky., Mrs. Sylvia Holbert of Ray, Ohio, and Mrs. Bette Berry of Dayton; 36 grandchildren; four half-brothers, Wilbern Bentley of Troy, Denver Evans of Pleasant Hill, Douglas Evans of Bay City, Mich., and Julius Evans of Christiansburg, and a half-sister, Mrs. Manual Wark of Piqua.

Lois said her mother was a midwife, herb doctor, seamstress, and Sunday school teacher. Her father was a farmer, but worked the steel mills in Portsmith when the family needed money.

Notes for Everett Johnson: Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today in Load, Ky., for Everett Johnson, 73, a former resident of Troy and father of Mrs. Lois Wilcox, Piqua. Mr. Johnson died Wednesday in The Lady of Bellefontaine Hospital in Load after an illness of one month. A former employee of the Troy City Street Department, he was the father of Arthur, James, Jimmy Lee and Lowell Johnson, all of Troy. Also surviving are his wife, Belle; five daughters, Mrs. Lenore Miller, and Mrs. Goldie Stephens both of Load, Mrs. Betty Berry of Dayton, Mrs.. Virginia Brown of Ashland, Ky., and Mrs. Sylvia Holbert of Chillicothe; a brother; two sisters, 34 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He had five grandchildren. He was a member of the Troy Moose and the Quarter Century Club at Hobart Mfg. The Rev. Noah Wyatt will conduct funeral services Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Deeter Funeral Home, Troy. Burial will be in the Miami Memorial Park, Covington.
