Reports, - President Discussion about member concerns for attending conference. We need to point out that all food is included in next marketing venue. Should we do 2 conferences? Maybe one is just one day- for students, different tracks such as ortho, peds, geri, etc. This has been done in the past, used to do leadership conference as the 2nd conference. Discussion about our cooperation with strategic plan, which ends 2014 Discussion about SIS involvement

Government -Thanks to Brent for sending out blast emails. D. Oliveira Affairs -Didn’t have a big effect on Medicaid fights, put time and resources into time for developing protocols. Peds Medicaid, new preauthorization system. Oct 7th, PT/OT/SLP alliance with ACAH (oversees Medicaid) asked to extend until Feb, not Nov 1st….rejected and rules in effect Nov 1st. Changes in Medicaid funding from fee for service to managed care. FOTA stands against this action, not just impact on peds, also impacts SNF and LTC. -GA visit to region 7 south forum, well attended by 40 attendees. -Consider some subcommittees for GA.

Vice President -Ann Hull is in charge of sanctioning now E. Vizvary -Conferences, add 2 institutes this yr. and ortho track. Postcard had a positive effect. Thanks to Mike Vizvary for his design expertise. Cost about 4K sent to 10K + licensed practitioners, great value. Current membership is 750 members. Registration doubled since Feb conference. -Venue for 2012 conf , NSU Tampa Nov 2-3

M. Shuford – attends local meetings and reports on FOTA, speaks to a lot of new therapists in the area, phone duty regularly. SJ. Crowley Representative No report for RA, online meeting runs Nov 1 -11th. Assembly Mentor award for Gary Kielhofner. Future RA reports will not be a problem as this time the appointees had just started their term.

Treasurer’s -Conference income to date $39,000, including D. Murphy- Report exhibitors and registrations. Fischer -Will email profit and loss statement for records. 110K in current account. CD’s very low interest rate currently. No money placed in new CD.

Review of -Attachment previously emailed and distributed to E. Vizvary and P. Conference all EB. Levan schedule and -Tasks reviewed. board tasks -All EB should be available for poster presentations and keynote. Discussion ensued about how to keep membership in business meeting right after keynote. -Ideas for streamlining review of papers. All feedback is positive as the system stands. -First yr for professional posters - only 3 displayed

Webinar Had a contract with Peachtree media. Ran Motion: FOTA will obtain all pre-recorded E. Vizvary updates webinars and made a bit of profit, when re- on demand program files currently in evaluated it was decided that it was not feasible. Peachtree media possession. Motion carries -List of all policies distributed. Policies are getting closer to being polices and not procedures. After holidays are over, we will vote on -Carol acknowledged for her phenomenal work on updated policies so they can be voted on this in total. these policy revisions/updates

Myra McDaniel Fund is now in place. How do we go about the AOTF will now drive the marketing for us to K. Hubbard Award process of handing out this award and get some all Florida students. They take applications interest? and complete the process.

Should we put more money in? We put 6K in and Motion by D. Murphy-Fischer: Transfer you could have 12.5K and they would match for a 6.5K from FOTA operating account to Myra total of 25K. This can be added to the fund and McDaniel AOTF fund. be matched by AOTF by Dec, 2011 deadline. Deb Olivera 2nd. Motion carries

Lela Llorens fund has 6K now, not being used Put on hold for now and added to a future presently. It appears this is not enough money to agenda. perform a research project. Feeling is that there needs to be at least 30K for this award to be useful. Never been a recipient of this award, came out of UF originally.. Will consider using a percentage of our net profit to add to this award.

Monitoring of Rules state that winners have to remain FOTA Pres, VP and Treasurer are supposed to SJ Crowley the previous members for 5 yrs and need to be activtely mentor these winners. Myra McDaniel working on FOTA task. Award winners 1st winner active member, 2nd is a member only and active in her forum but not on the board, 3rd, not a member now.

New Business
