Weight Training Syllabus

Instructor: Kelby Watts/ Rikki Baxter/ Austin Osment/ Zach Romain/ Oneal Yates

Course Description: This elective class will increase your strength, fitness, and coordination through an individualized weight training program. Proper lift techniques, weight room safety, increased muscle tone, muscle definition, and increased energy levels. A skill test every six weeks (max test). The final is a physical test.

This course is designed to satisfy Georgia Standards and Course Level

PEHS.1: Demonstrates competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities. PEHS.2: Demonstrates understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities. PEHS.3: Participates regularly in physical activity. PEHS.4: Achieves and maintains a health-enhancing level of physical fitness. PEHE.5: Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings. PEHS.6: Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction. Grading Policy Class Grading Procedures

Expectations Students are expected to participate daily. A weekly grade of 100pts. will be earned. A student can earn 20pts a day for participation. Students must change to lift. ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FITNESS GRAM.

Class Procedures Students are expected to be in the dressing room on time (We will follow school policy for tardies). Lifters will have 5 minutes to change and have weight set up on first lift. NO BOAT SHOES, SANDALS, HOUSE SHOES OR SLIPPERS. Students will have 5 minutes at the end of class to change for the next period. No food or drinks in the weight room, dressing room.
