Jefferson West Middle School Mission Statement: Jefferson West Middle School provides all students opportunities to be lifelong learners.

School begins at 8:00 a.m. and concludes at 3:25 p.m. each day

BUS/GYM DUTY FOR WEEK: Hypse/Sundberg/Abbott

Students are to go to the commons upon entering the building in the morning, not to their lockers or gym lockers!

STUDENTS DID YOU BRING LUNCH MONEY? If so, bring it to the office ASAP.

ASAP – every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30 PM in Room 107!

All communication for 5th grade re: your child is through the MS. Examples would be if your child is sick, appointment, coming in late, etc.

Reminder - Students that are absent because of doctor's appointment will need to have a note from the doctor's office. Thank you for your cooperation! USE OF SCHOOL PHONE: Use of the school phone to call home regarding school matters is allowed on Lunch Break or with a pass from your teacher. Passes will not be issued if you are late to class. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

 Cell Phones – are to be in your school locker. If they are seen or heard in a class they will be taken by the teacher and turned into the office. You can check your messages at your locker between classes. Phones are not allowed in the lunchroom. Thank you for your cooperation

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Middle School Girls Basketball – The next games are Thursday, October 27th at ACCJHS at 4:30 PM. The bus will leave at 3:20 PM.

Middle School Wrestling – The first meet is Thursday, November 3rd at Royal Valley beginning at 4:30 PM.

Jeff West Tiger Junior Basketball will begin their clinics for 5th and 6th grade on Saturday, October 29th at 10:00 AM and the Middle School Gym. Follow them on FACEBOOK at Jeff West Jr. Tiger Basketball Club!

This is Red Ribbon Week! Themes for each day as follows:

Today we “Team up Against Drug” by wearing our favorite team apparel

Wednesday – Boots Day! “Let’s Stomp Out Drugs”

Thursday – PJ Day! “Put Drugs to Sleep”

Friday – Be a Super Hero Day and say KAPOW to drugs!

Pennies for Patients fundraiser ends today. Get your money turned in!

On Friday, October 28th 5th grade students will have a Halloween party starting at 2:00 PM and then walk to the Elementary School to watch the parade which begins at 2:40. Our 7th and 8th grade band will be marching in the parade and other grade levels will go watch it as well. Middle School students should dress in normal school attire on October 28th! Booster Club Game Night and Dance – Friday, October 28, 2016! Wear your Halloween Costume! The 5th & 6th Grade will attend from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. The 7th & 8th Grade will attend from 8:00 – 10:00 PM. Admission is $3.00. Students with “F” Packets from 1st quarter will not be able to attend.

SCHOOL WILL NOT BE IN SESSION ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 31st!

Picture Re-takes will be on Tuesday, November 1st. If you wish to have your picture taken again please bring your originals with you to give to the photographer. If you were absent that day, order packets are available in the office. Please have your picture taken even if you are not ordering as we use these for the yearbook!

Career Day for 7th & 8th Grade students is Thursday, November 3rd in the morning. Please let Mr. Hamon know if you or someone you know is interested in presenting to our students. We feel this will be a great opportunity for our students to be exposed to many different careers.
