Assignment # 4.2: Responding to Additional Packet Materials

Today in class, you broke into groups based on your final project topic of choice and discussed what you thought were the main points of the central essay as well as your reactions to those claims. To continue developing your thoughts about this topic, you will now begin looking at the additional materials in your packet.

For Wednesday, April 28th, please read the additional materials, as specified below, from your final project packet and write a response to these materials based on the following guidelines:

 Name and describe what you see as the main ideas presented by the authors in the additional materials. Then, as before, discuss your reactions to and interpretations of those ideas. In other words, what do you think of the authors’ claims or viewpoints?

 Refer to and analyze quotes to discuss your views about the authors’ claims.

 Discuss how your thoughts on the overall topic or issue have evolved now that you have read these additional materials. Look back to your response in 4.1 – what new thoughts and ideas do you have on this topic thus far?
