These dedicated players did 32 not disappoint their supporters, finishing second in the regular 33 season setting expectations high for the title win; and 34 35 Whereas, this crowning victory came after playing and winning 36 four straight games over a twoday period, proving the team is a 37 powerhouse to be reckoned with; and 38 39 Whereas, adding further recognition to an already impressive list 40 of accomplishments, on the road to the big win the team beat the 41 previously undefeated regular season champions, the Foothills 42 Soccer Club of Greer Phantoms; and
[1016] 2 1 2 Whereas, the team consists of seventeen girls representing five 3 midlands high schools Airport High, Blythewood High, Lexington 4 High, Richland Northeast High, and White Knoll High; and 5 6 Whereas, the winning team is affiliated with the Lexington County 7 Soccer Club ably led by Club President Helmut Tissler and 8 Director of Coaching Alan Riches; and 9 10 Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly takes great 11 pleasure in recognizing the girls of the LCSC United 92G White 12 soccer team for their excellence on the field and expects to hear of 13 continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore, 14 15 Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives 16 concurring: 17 18 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 19 Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend the 20 Lexington County Girls Classic Soccer Team, the LCSC United 21 92G White, for its outstanding season and for capturing the 22 Presidents Medal Soccer League State Cup for the U17 Girls 23 Classic Division, and to honor the team’s exceptional players and 24 coaches. 25 26 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to 27 Coach William C. “Skip” Broome II. 28 XX 29
