DISTRICT GOAL(S) ADDRESSED: X K-12 LITERACY (SUPPORT FOR K-12 READING, WRITING, OR MATHEMATICS) X PROFICIENCY FOR ALL STUDENTS ACROSS ALL GRADE LEVELS AND CONTENT AREAS AS MEASURED BY STANDARDIZED STATE MEASURES (CST, CAHSEE)  INCREASED ACCESS TO RIGOROUS CURRICULUM & COURSES FOR ALL STUDENTS (AP CLASSES, A-G)

ANTICIPATED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:By reviewing the work of the leading authorities on school improvement, our staff will continue to fine-tune our goal of becoming a professional learning community (PLC). Taking a closer look at the components of a successful PLC will assist in identifying what we are already doing well and what work needs to be done to move our school from good to great. It is anticipated that there will be an increased collaboration among grade level and vertical teams through the four main focus questions of this book: 1. What is it we want all students to learn? 2. How will we know when each student has mastered the essential learning? 3. How will we respond when a student experiences the initial difficulty in learning? 4. How will we deepen the learning for students who have already mastered essential knowledge and skills?

These four focus questions will become the driving force behind grade level classroom action plans that will be developed by the collaborative teams.
