Lisa Durity-Mollineau Trinidadian Born: 1965

In 1990, Lisa Mollineau started on her Carnival/Artistic career making costumes for a well known Children’s Bandleader Rosalind Gabriel from 1990-2000. During this period she also worked for Peter Minshall, Barbarossa and Legends (now disbanded). Some of her credits at that time included:- (a) Miss Teen Trinidad and Tobago, best costume

(b) Little Misses of Trinidad and Tobago, best gown title for the years 1997 and 1998

(c) Miss Trinidad and Tobago Carnival Queen Show, best gown title for the years 1993- 1997

(d) Female Individual of the year Miami Carnival 1999 – The Huntress portrayed by Lisa Mollineau.

In the year 2001, Carnival Players – A Children’s Band was formed between partners Lisa Mollineau and Dune Ali. This partnership ended in 2010, when Lisa took the bold step to design and produce her own children’s band under the name of “Carnival Babies”.

Lisa’s track record thus far is as follows:-

In 2015 Carnival Babies portrayed “On Stage” and the results were - 2nd Place Large Band, Red Cross Kiddies Carnival Competition - 1st Place Red Cross Junior Queen of Carnival - 1st Place Downtown Junior Band of the Year (Large) - 3rd Place NCBA Junior Carnival Band of the Year (Large) - 1st Place NCBA Original Category (Large) - 3rd Place Designer Award Large Band of the Year - 1st Place Spirit of Carnival Large Band of the Year - 1st Place NCBA Queen of the Day - 1st Place NCBA Non-School Junior Queen of Carnival - 2nd Place NCBA Queen of Carnival - 1st Place South POS Junior Queen of Carnival - 3rd Place South POS Large Band of the Year

In 2014 Carnival Babies portrayed “Colour Me Carnival” which placed 1st in NCBA Large Band of the year, 1st Place Designer Award, 1st Place Spirit of Carnival, 1st Place Original Category, 1st – 3rd Place Female Individual of the year, 1st Place Male Individual of the Year, 2nd Place Large Band of the year Red Cross Kiddies Carnival, 1st Place Junior Queen, 1st Place Female Most Original, 1st Place Downtown Carnival Large Band of the year, 2nd Place South POS Large Band of the year, 1st Place Junior Queen South POS.

In 2013 Carnival Babies portrayed “Shape it up” which placed 1st Downtown Carnival with a Hattrick, 2nd in NCBA Large Band of the year, 1st Place South POS Carnival Competition, 2nd Place Designer Award Large Band of the year, 1st place Original Category, 1st place Spirit of Carnival, 2nd place Large Band of the year in Red Cross Kiddies Carnival, 2nd place Large Band of the year Lisa Durity-Mollineau Trinidadian Born: 1965

St James Carnival, 2nd place NCBA Junior Queen of carnival, 1st – 9th Place NCBA Female Individual of the year,

In 2012 Carnival Babies portrayed “Jammin to de Beat – In Memory of Wayne Berkeley” which placed 1st in NCBA large band of the year, 1st place NCBA designer award for large band of the year, 1st place Red Cross Kiddies Carnival large band of the year, 1 st place Downtown Carnival large band of the year, 1st place South POS Carnival large band of the year, 2nd place St James Carnival large band of the year, 1st place NCBA Junior Queen of the day, 2nd place Junior Queen of Carnival, 1st place NCBA Female Individual of the year, 1st place South POS Junior Queen of carnival and 1st place Female individual of the year.

In 2011 Carnival Babies portrayed “Material World” which placed 2nd in NCBA Large Band of the year, 2nd place NCBA designer award Large Band of the year, 1st place Downtown Carnival Large Band of the year, 1st place South POS Large Band of the year, 3rd place Red Cross Kiddies Carnival large band of the year, 2nd NCBA Spirit of carnival and 1st place Original category.

In 2010 Carnival Babies portrayed “Feather Fantasy” which placed 2nd in NCBA Large Band of the year, including 1st Place in the Fantasy Category, 1st Place Large Band of the year at St. Anthony’s College competition, 3rd Place Large band category Red Cross Children’s carnival. Lisa was also awarded 2nd Place Designer Award Large Band and Spirit of Carnival.

In April 2010, Lisa also successfully hosted Carnival Babies’ First Annual Easter Bonnet competition.

In 2009 The band’s portrayal was Fanta Sea Sailors, which placed 2nd in large band of the year, 1st place Junior king of Downtown carnival, 3rd in Junior queen of carnival, 5 individuals placed 1st in age group. 2nd place Designer award went to Lisa Mollineau and Dune Ali

In 2008 The band’s portrayal was Romancing the Stone, which placed 2nd large band of the year, 1st place Junior king of carnival, 1st place Junior queen of carnival in the Red Cross competition, 1st place female individual of the year, 5 individuals placed 1st in age group, and 2 individuals placed 2nd in age group. Lisa was awarded 2nd place designer Large band of the year.

In 2007 The band’s portrayal was Bands thru the years, which placed 2nd Large band of the year, 3rd place Junior queen of carnival, 5 individuals placed 1st in age group. Lisa was awarded 2nd place designer Large band of the year.

In 2006 The band’s portrayal was Brassorama, which placed 1st Medium band of the year, 3rd place Junior king of carnival and six (6) individuals placed 1st in age group. Lisa was awarded 1st place designer Medium band of the year.

In 2005 The band’s portrayal was Come let’s dance, which placed 2nd Medium band of the year, 1st Spirit of carnival, 1st place Junior king of the day, 3rd place Junior king of carnival, 5 individuals 1st place age group, 2 individuals 2nd place age group, 1 individual 3rd place age group. Lisa was awarded 2nd place designer Medium band of the year.

The band’s portrayal was Ships Ahoy, which placed 4th Medium band of the year, 2 individuals 1st place age group, 2 individuals 2nd place age group, 1 individual 3rd place age group.

In 2003 The band’s portrayal was Prophecy, which placed 2nd Medium band of the year, 1st place Junior queen of carnival, 4th place Junior king of carnival, 4 individuals 1st place in category, 1 individual 2nd place. Lisa was awarded 2nd place designer Medium band of the year.

In 2002 The band’s portrayal was Now Dat was Mas, which placed 2nd Medium band of the year, individuals 1st and 2nd in age group categories, 2nd runner-up Junior king of carnival, 4th place Junior queen of carnival, two of the you individuals placed 1st in an open traditional Adult mas competition and Lisa was awarded 2nd place designer Medium band of the year.

In 2001 The band’s portrayal was Images the Unexplained Sea, which placed 1st in Small band of the year at four (4) different competitions, 1st place best 1st attempt, female individual of the year and three (3) individuals placing 1st in age group category.

Apart from this Lisa Mollineau in 2005 also designed for another well-known Children’s bandleader by the name of Gerard Kelly, his portrayal was D Bridal Party, capturing five (5) 1st place awards at different competitions. Lisa was awarded 1st place designer Medium band of the year. Their track record thus far is as follows:-

In 2009 The bands portrayal was Shades of White, placing 1st in Medium band of the year category two (2) different competitions. Two (2) individuals placing 1st and 1 in 3rd place.

In 2008 The band’s portrayal was How, When, Why, which placed 3rd Medium band of the year. 2 individuals placed 1st in age group and 1 individual placing 3rd. Lisa was awarded 3rd place designer Medium band of the year.

In 2007 The band’s portrayal was Wonders of the World, placing 1st Medium band of the year, 1st place female individual of the year, 3 individuals placing 1st in age group and 1 individual placing 2nd . Lisa was awarded 1st place Designer Medium band of the year.

In 2006 The band’s portrayal was Outta de Marketplace, place 2nd Medium band of the year, 2 individuals placed 1st in age group and Lisa was awarded 2nd place Medium band of the year.

Lisa Mollineau has also taken cultural art forms from Trinidad “World famous Carnival” and introduces it to various Caribbean Islands (i.e. Jamaica, St.Thomas, St.Croix, Tortola, Barbados and Grenada) parts of North America (i.e. New York, Boston, New Jersey, Miami, California and Canada) since 1997.

Lisa Mollineau is the only designer in Children’s carnival to have maintained awards in winner’s row consecutively for the designing of two children’s bands for Trinidad carnival. Lisa was presented with an award in December 2007, from the National Carnival Bands Association of Trinidad and Tobago for her contribution as a loyal and devoted member.

In spite, of this hectic schedule Lisa Mollineau found time to design and produce her own section in a large adult band by the name of Poison from 2000 – 2005.

Lisa Mollineau aka Carnival Baby – her company’s name is Carnival Babies Limited.
