Management Strategy and Quality Policy of Mapei UK Ltd

Quality, the Environment, Health & Safety and Social Accountability will not be sacrificed one for the other in our business.

In order to meet the policy and objectives for success developed at the Corporate level, Mapei (UK) Ltd have committed to implement and maintain an effective Management System based on the following principles:

 Provide a Safe Working Environment and Controlled Operations that respects the Law, Regulations and above all the needs of the personnel working for the company.

 Protect the Environment by applying good environmental practices and policies. Reduce scrap and waste through efficiency in meeting quality requirements.

 Identify customer requirements and supply high-quality, innovative products and systems and services focused to meet their current and future expectations.

 The Commitment of the Managers to create and maintain a working environment ensuring personnel remain involved in achieving customer and company goals.

 Continuously apply and improve the Effective and Efficient management of activities and related resources to satisfy the expectations of both internal and external issues.

 Identify and understand process interactions locally and with other Interested Parties, to achieve the Mapei (UK) Ltd and Corporate objectives effectively and efficiently.

 Ensure decisions are based on reliable, accurate data and information that enable key performance indicators to be generated accurately.

Health and Safety Policy of Mapei UK Ltd

The company will never allow circumstances to arise that will lead to unacceptable levels of risk to the Health and Safety of Employees, Customers, Contractors, Suppliers, Visitors and the General Public.

This will be assured by the professional management of Health and Safety within the company and the commitment by all of the management team to the continuous reduction of risk and increased awareness of Health and Safety issues through Commitment to:

 Ensure Risk Assessments are carried out and regularly updated to reflect changing circumstances with the focus towards improvement.

 Protect the Health and Safety of Employees, Local communities, Contractors, Customers and the General Public from harm.

 Manage Industrial and Commercial activities in compliance with current legislation and other Health, Safety and Environmental requirements to which the Company subscribes and the Mapei Italy Corporate policy.

 Ensure the active participation of all Employees in the process of safe guarding Occupational Health and Safety within the Company, including themselves, their colleagues and others.

 Maintain the continued awareness of Health and Safety requirements through the active participation of employees in Safety Committees, Training and exchange of knowledge and experience.

 Maintain and promote a culture of Near Miss reporting as part of Preventive Action

 Maintain continuous improvement in all areas of the company, including activities performed externally. This will be achieved through the setting of goals and objectives with continuous monitoring of Key Performance Indicators

 Support the Corporate Commitment to the Chemical Industries Responsible Care® Program and Social Accountability.

 Communicate this policy to all Employees, other persons working on behalf of the Company and ensure it is available to the Public and Interested Parties.

 Review of this Policy, Objectives, Targets and KPI’s will be performed at each formal Management Review meeting as a standard part of the agenda.

Environmental Policy of Mapei UK Ltd

The company will maximise opportunities that protect the environment from activities which may be created by the company. This will be assured by the professional management of Environmental aspects of the business and the commitment by all of the management team to the continuous reduction of Environmental impacts and increased awareness of Environmental issues through Commitment to:

 Minimise waste by evaluating operations and activities and ensuring they are efficient as possible. Reduce the usage of consumables in the company.

 Actively promote recycling and re-use of materials both internally and amongst customers and suppliers. When not possible due care will be exercised in respect of waste disposal in accordance with current guidelines and legislation.

 Continually improve environmental performance through evaluation and implementation of procedures and processes required to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment.

 Set environmental targets including the reduction of environmental impacts that will be checked by regular management and supervisory actions together with independent internal and third party audits.

 Minimize carbon emissions through the selection of transport / company vehicles and its required power source.

 Reduce the use of natural resources and increase the use of recycled materials where practical in support to the R & D efforts of Mapei Italy.

 Implementation of training for all staff to raise awareness of environmental issues and enlist their support in improving the company’s performance. Ensure due emphasis is placed on the protection of the environment and workplace care / safety /cleanliness.

 Continuously promote the range of products that have been certified to have low environmental impact. Bring to market newly developed low emission, low impact products with maximum efficiency in order to introduce new technologies designed for environmental improvement.

 Meet or exceed all of the current environmental legislation that relates to the company and to be proactive in the swift implementation of new requirements.
