The Following Is Very Important Information... if your Child will be a Senior next year, this effects you... Read All The Way Down To The End.

The "Tradition" of Project Graduation for Each Class begins with the JUNIOR PARENTS... What is Project Graduation? Project Graduation is a "Drug-and-Alcohol-Free All-Night Lock-In Party" where the Senior Class can celebrate their High School Graduation in a Fun and Safe Environment. The Senior Parents provide Food, Games and Activities for the Students. This Event Benefits our Graduates and our Community. This year's Project Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Kingwood High School following the KHS 2012 Senior Class Graduation, that will be held earlier in the day at Reliant Stadium. What does Project Graduation have to do with me, a Junior Parent? The Junior Parents are an essential element toward the success of KHS Project Graduation. Historically, Junior parents "Pay-It-Forward" by Volunteering. You see... with Senior Parents busy during the day with their own Student's Graduation, the Senior Parents need our help... and remember... we will be Senior Parents next year, needing the help from next year's Junior Parents!!! Junior Parents are needed: to man Security for Project Graduation Open House (The Project Graduation Set-Up is open to the public for viewing prior to the event); to man Security preceding Project Graduation; to Pick-Up and Deliver the Food prior to the event; and to do Clean- up, Breakdown of Sets and provide Transportation to Storage of all Equipment and Supplies the following early morning, at which time the Junior Parents take ownership of the "2013" Project Graduation Event.

These are the shifts available for Sign-Up the afternoon and evening of Saturday, May 26th, and the early morning of Sunday, May 27th.

1. 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Security Open House, Saturday May 26th 2. 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Pre-Event Security, Saturday May 26th 3. 8:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Pre-Event Security, Saturday May 26th 4. Pickup and Delivery of Food, Prior to Event, Saturday May 26th (Food Chair will set-up times.) 5. * Sunday May 27th beginning at 4:00 a.m. until finished – help with Clean-Up, Breakdown Sets, and Transporting Items to Storage *

*On Sunday May 27th, we need help moving decorations back to the storage units beginning at 6:00 a.m. This should take only a couple of hours with enough volunteers. If you have trucks, please bring them to help haul the decorations. We will need truck drivers! You can also Volunteer to Help during the Event!

How Do I Volunteer? To Volunteer... Log on to the KHS Web Page, Click on "ACTIVITIES" and then click “PROJECT GRADUATION” ~ on the page look for the link to JUNIOR PARENT VOLUNTEER FORM ~ Please make sure that you do not fill out the Senior Parent Volunteer Form. It is important that each volunteer complete the Volunteer Form. Please note on your form exactly where you would like to work in the Comments Section. Your form will be sent electronically to Judy Hinckfoot, Project Graduation Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected]. Any questions, please call Judy at 281-744-7507. Project Graduation is a Great Tradition. Please volunteer to help us keep the tradition going. Remember, Junior parents work theses shifts so senior parents can attend graduation, as next year's junior parents will do this for our class. The more volunteers we have, the less work for everyone. If you have a student who will be a Senior next year, please be fair and volunteer for your share of the workload.

What Do I Wear if I Work During the Actual Event? All Junior Class Steering Committee Chairmen, Spouses, Parents who provide support to PG 2012, during the Event Hours... MUST WEAR a Project Graduation T-Shirt and Name Tag in accordance with Security Guidelines while Volunteering. Project Graduation T-shirts cost $10.00. Please contact Michelle & Duane McPeak @ [email protected] to receive one.

The Steering Committee for our 2013 Project Graduation is now being formed. Many talents and abilities are needed to make our event a success. Please contact me at: [email protected]. Activities can be Co- Chaired if you want to share the responsibility with a friend.

Many thanks for your support... I look forward to hearing from you and working with you!!!
