Keep these sheets for your records.

1. Back to School Nights: (August evening event) Coordinate refreshments, greet and assist De Smet Jesuit parents on this fall evening as the parents follow their son’s schedule and meet his teachers. This event is scheduled for one night shortly after school begins.

2. Fall and Spring Bake Sales: (October, April, Special Olympic day events) Our sons just can’t get enough of the goodies baked by our volunteers for Fall and Spring Bake Sales. Items collected are sold during your sons’ lunch period. If baking or working the sale is your forte, this committee is for you!

3. Open House (7 th and 8 th Grade): (First Sunday in November - day event) Assist our admissions staff by welcoming prospective students and their families as we show them our Spartan pride.

4. Christmas Mass, Bazaar and Dinner: (December evening event) Help arrange Mass, coordinate vendors, and plan the dinner for this festive event. If you love to shop, this event is for you!!

5. Senior Mom Prom: (January evening event) Arrange a “Night to Remember” for our Seniors and their Moms…dinner, dancing and lots of fun, with invitations, fancy attire, photo booth. Off-site. This is generally planned by our Junior Moms.

6. The O Gala and Auction: (Spring Saturday) Volunteers are needed to help with all committees: Live and Silent Auction, Sponsorship, Raffles and Grab Bags, Decorations, Marketing, Program Advertisement, Reservations and Volunteer Organization. This is the largest fundraiser of the year for the school and everyone’s participation is needed to make it a success.

7. Lenten Day of Recollection: (Day event during Lent) Committee organizes a spiritual day for quiet reflection and prayer, an inspirational speaker and Mass at De Smet Jesuit. They also plan a light breakfast and lunch.

8. Mother/Son Mass and Brunch: (March, Sunday event) Assists with the Mass and plan brunch on site.

9. Grandparents Mass and Brunch: (April, Sunday event) Assists with the Mass and plan brunch on site. 10. Junior Ring Mass and Lunch: (May day event) Coordinate the luncheon on this special day that includes Mass off-site, the ring ceremony and lunch at a special venue for Mom, Dad and their Junior son. This is generally planned by Sophomore Moms.

11. Graduation Brunch: (May, Sunday morning event) Plan and organize brunch for the Seniors and their parents on the morning of their graduation day at the Hilton. This is generally planned by Junior Moms.

12. Final Odyssey: (May, evening of graduation) Plan and organize the Senior Lock-In after graduation. This is generally planned by Senior Moms.

13. Faculty / Staff Appreciation: Committee plans the end-of-the-year catered luncheon to honor our faculty and staff. Volunteers also provide “treats” for various occasions throughout the school year.

14. “Mothers for Others” Events: As our sons become “Men for Others” our De Smet Jesuit Moms set an example by being “Mothers for Others.” This committee coordinates weekly Wednesday morning snacks for the Breakfast Club and monthly dinners for the kids that live at Boys / Girls Hope.

15. Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors: Are you a Eucharistic Minister or Lector at your parish? Several times during the school year, the Mothers’ Club needs Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors for our special Masses. If you’re available, we’d love to have you on our list of people to contact.

16. Chapel Moms and Dads: Chapel Moms and Dads gather once a month to assist with the cleaning of the chapel, and laundering of linens.

17. Parent Network Representative: (monthly morning meetings) Attend “Parent Network” informational meetings (an organization of area Catholic high schools). They discuss important parenting issues (i.e. alcohol, drugs, curfews) and ask that you disseminate the information to De Smet Jesuit parents.

18. Spirit Wear Sales: Committee is responsible for creating and distributing apparel and products to promote De Smet Jesuit. Attendance at Mothers’ Club meetings and other social events throughout the year to promote and develop sales is highly recommended.

19. Welcoming Committee: (Various days / times) Committee members assist in welcoming parents on the morning of shadow days, answering questions, giving info about De Smet Jesuit at the close of summer camp weeks. Encourage 7th – 8th grade parents of prospective De Smet Jesuit students from your grade school/parish schools.

20. Marketing Committee: (Various days / times) Committee members assist in marketing efforts of future De Smet Jesuit Spartans, help and organize different events with Marketing Administration staff throughout year.
