SHILOH HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PARENTAL AGREEMENT………..20

P.O. Box 390655 Snellville, GA 30039 2 Shiloh Touchdown Club

Greetings from the Shiloh High School Touchdown Club:

We are very excited about the upcoming year and the hard work our young men will put forth in preparation of a winning football season.

In planning for a successful season and program, we have learned that it takes sufficient financial resources to meet the needs of a WINNING program. The success of The Shiloh Football Team depends on each player/family donating TIME, TALENT and MONEY.

The average per player cost for the 2009 season is approximately $1,000-$1,200 and is a direct cost incurred by the Touchdown Club which is supported by the parents and community.

The Touchdown Club consist of supportive parents, community volunteers and a dedicated coaching staff who come together to support our Football Program. Our sole purpose is to promote a partnership with the Shiloh Athletic Department, Coaching Staff, Parents, Players and Community to encourage financial support, faithful service and fervent sacrifices as a collective team. We must commit to enhance our Football Program here at Shiloh High School while building character in our players which will allow them to be successful on and off the football field.

Your donations, contributions and sponsorships will enable us to acquire the much needed equipment, supplies, scholarships, tutoring sessions, meals, and coaching stipends (to name a few!) and other items to enhance our program. The Shiloh Touchdown Club is a Non-Profit Organization with 501(c)3 status which makes your donations fully tax deductible.

Thank you in advance for extending a helping hand in the continued success of Shiloh High School Football. You can be assured, your donations, contributions and sponsorships will be used wisely and that your investment into the future of your young man will yield positive results, not only for Shiloh but for the surrounding community as well.

Sincerely,

Coach Wilkes and the Shiloh Touchdown Club

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Shiloh High School follows standards and rules established by both the Gwinnett County School System and the Georgia High School Association. Any student wishing to represent Shiloh School must meet eligibility requirements as defined by these organizations and GHS.

The following regulations apply to all GHS students in grades 9-12 who participate in extracurricular activities. 1. To participate in extracurricular activities a student must pass 5 out of 6 courses the preceding semester. Summer school is considered an extension of spring semester. A student is ineligible on the first day of the semester if he or she has not passed 5 subjects the preceding semester except for the beginning of Fall semester when eligibility shall be declared at the time the student has passed 5 or 6 courses including courses taken during summer school.

2. A student must be present in school at least half of the school day (3 periods) to be eligible to participate in an activity/sport for that day. This includes being present at least 3 periods on Friday preceding a Saturday event.

3. Students who are suspended ISS or OSS may not participate in any school activity, including practice, until the day after the suspension ends.

4. All students must be “On Track” for graduation at the beginning of each school year to remain eligible: 2nd year – 4 Carnegie units; 3rd year – 10 Carnegie units; 4th year – 16 Carnegie units.

5. All students must have an up-to-date completed physical form on file BEFORE they can practice or tryout for a team. All physicals are good for one year from the date the physical was conducted.

6. Student athletes must show proof of insurance BEFORE they can practice or tryout for a team.

7. All eligibility requirements established by the GHSA (Georgia High School Association) must be met and maintained.

8. In order to earn an award, a student must remain on the squad (in the activity he/she is participating) until the entire schedule has been completed and/or until he/she has been released by the coach.

9. All students must obey training rules at all times, especially the general rules of the non- use of alcohol, tobacco, and unauthorized drugs, as well as all local, state, and federal laws.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (Continued)

10. All students must return all equipment issued or pay for the replacement of any item not returned.

11. All out of season practices are prohibited by the GHSA and Gwinnett County Public Schools. Starting dates for all extra curricular activities have been established by the GHSA and shall be followed.

12. Any student who quits a sport cannot tryout for another sport until that sport has completed its season.

13. Non-school teams (i.e., AAU, Club teams) do not take precedence over a GHS team that is in season, including games and practices. Shiloh coaches will work with the player as much as possible but there is no guarantee. Shiloh’s teams MUST take priority.

14. All student-athletes are encouraged to participate in one, two, or three seasons as they choose. Student-athletes, who are finishing one season while tryouts are in progress for another season, will have an opportunity for a delayed tryout.

15. Student-athletes are expected at all times to represent Shiloh High School with dignity, sportsmanship, and class. Severe exhibits of unsportsmenship will result in a period of suspension as determined by the Head Coach and/or the Athletic Director.

16. Student-athletes are expected to treat our facilities, including equipment, with care and respect. Student-athletes will be expected to pay for any damage to our facilities and/or equipment.

These rules and regulations are subject to change by the school, GCPS or GHSA.

CONCESSION STAND DUTY

As the parents of young men playing football for Shiloh High School we ALL represent the Shiloh Touchdown Club and we have a GREAT responsibility in supporting these young men.

As we already explained, it takes a substantial amount of money to operate a successful Football Program which means we must get out and support our team where needed.

We (parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents etc.) are responsible for operating the Concession Stand during ALL Home Games on Thursday (9th grade & JV) @ 5:00pm and Friday (Varsity) @ 6:00 pm.

IT IS MANDATORY THAT ALL PARENTS WORK THEIR ASSIGNED SHIFT(S) IN THE CONCESSION STAND.

You may be assigned “MANDATORY CONCESSION DUTY” on more than one game night as we will need at least 15 people for each varsity game. We also need parents who are willing to commit to every Friday home game if possible. In an effort to make sure we have the proper coverage needed to operate as smooth as possible, a schedule for each game will be created and distributed once the 2009 Football Schedules are complete. One parent from each family MUST work the concession stand when assigned. If you are unable to work your assigned shift you must find a substitute to fill your slot prior to game day and notify the Concession Chairperson.

Upon arrival for your shift, each working parent must sign-in on the Shift Roster which will be located in the concession stand.

Young children are not allowed in the concession stand. Workers must be at least 17 years of age.

We look forward to meeting and working with all of you for the success of our program.
