Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. Come spend two full days exploring, understanding, and identifying how institutional and structural racism impacts you on Long Island.

The principal objectives of the training are: . To provide a framework and common language for genuine dialogue about racism and to create an environment which encourages such dialogue . To clarify the historical, political and social context for racism in the United States . To uncover the systematic linkages among racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, ableism, anti-Semitism, ageism and all forms of oppression. . To probe the reality and daily experience of individuals, institutional racism and white privilege . To offer individual participants opportunities to deepen their own awareness and understanding of racism, and their commitment to racial justice

Sessions include interactive exercises, small group discussion and self-exploration. To ensure an optimal experience, the participation is limited to 40 individuals. Nationally recognized trainers from cultural bridges will facilitate the training sessions.

From the West: Long Island Expressway to Exit 70 (Eastport-Manorville Road). Take this south to Route 27 (Sunrise Highway); travel on Sunrise Highway to Exit 63 South (County Road 31) to Westhampton Beach. BOCES is approximately two miles south of Sunrise Highway on the right-hand side (across from the Westhampton Airbase). From the East: South Shore-Take Sunrise Highway west to Exit 63 South (County Road 31) to Westhampton Beach. From the East: North Shore: Take Route 25 to Route 105, make a left-hand turn and follow Route 105 to Route 104. Make a left onto Route 104, when road forks, bear right onto County Road 31. BOCES is approximately two miles south of Route 27 (Sunrise Highway) overpass on County Road 31. It is on the right-hand side (across from the Westhampton Airbase.).
