Benjamin Franklin Ben Franklin was a very important part of the American Revolution. He was smart enough to know that banning the colonies together would help them win. He convinced France to help the Patriots win the war. He also represented America at important meetings and helped write the Declaration of Independence and the Treaty of Paris.
