RECYCLING DAY

The Quaker Valley Council of Governments and its member municipalities of Aleppo, Avalon, Bell Acres, Bellevue, Ben Avon, Edgeworth, Emsworth, Glenfield, Haysville, Kilbuck, Leet, Leetsdale, Glen Osborne and Sewickley will be sponsoring a Recycling Day on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Avalon Borough will be hosting the Recycling Day, which will be located at the Parking Lot of the Avalon Swimming Pool which is located on New Brighton Road across from the intersection of Frederick Street and New Brighton Road Only residents from the above mentioned municipalities will be able to partake in the Recycling Day and ID (Driver’s license or voter’s registration) will be required. CASH ONLY. No commercial establishments will be permitted to participate in this Recycling Day.

The following items will be accepted:  Oil (brought in some type of container)  Lead/acid batteries from cars, motorcycles and boats.  Passenger and Light Truck tires only, $3.00 per tire, NO RIMS NO LARGE TRUCK TIRES OR OFF THE ROAD TIRES . Freon Appliances  $15.00 for Refrigerators, Freezers, Air Conditioners, Dehumidifiers, Wine and Water Coolers

Other Appliances (No Charge): Washers, Dryers , Dishwashers, Microwaves

Computer and Electronic Related Items  No Charge: Desktop and Notebook PCs and Servers, Monitors and TVs ( LCD and LED, Flat Screens only), Printers, Computer Speakers, Mice, Keyboards, Scanners Digital Cameras, Toner and Ink Jet Cartridges, External Devices (CD/DVD Burners, Jaz and Zip Drives, Wireless Routers, Switches and Modems, DVD Players, PDAs, Video Games Consoles, Electronic Cables, UPS, Cell Phones and Telephones Hairdryers, Curling Irons, Stereo Equipment (including Car Stereos), Large Stereo Speakers, VCRs, Small Appliances such as Can Openers, Mixers, Toasters and Blenders; Hard Drive  Charges as listed: $50.00 includes: Large Fax Machines & Copy Machines $10.00 includes: CRT TVs; " No Console TVs" Data Destruction, $10.00 for the first drive/device, $3.00 for each additional one

Paint: Latex and Oil Based Paint (No Aluminum Paint), $2.00 per one gallon can, $1.00 for cans smaller than a gallon), $1.00 per Aerosol Can and $5.00 per 5 Gallon Bucket

Document Shredding: $5.00 per box of documents with dimensions of 18" x 10" x 11" or smaller
