D ECISION F ACTORS

The Following categories will be considered when making a final determination of the applicants for the 2014 Kappa Alpha Psi scholarship.

Grade Point Average: The minimum average is a 2.7 however, we encourage students who have strong leadership skills and community service but who may not meet the overall average, to also apply. This scholarship is designed to acknowledge academic achievement, leadership potential and community service. Our goal is to reward achievement and to identify candidates who are well rounded and have demonstrated a willingness and capacity to be an asset to their community.

Leadership Potential: Our goal is to identify candidates who understand how world affairs impact them and their community. The successful applicant will have a healthy understanding of local, state and national political issues. He will be able to demonstrate the ability to analyze data and make effective decisions and have the capacity and tenacity to follow through.

Graduation: The successful candidate must be eligible for graduation from high school in the spring of 2014.

College Admittance: The successful applicant will be accepted for admission to an institution of higher learning or be eligible and awaiting acceptance.

Financial Need: While this scholarship is not based on family income, the applicant's ability to pay for their education will be a consideration. Interview: Following our initial screening for incomplete applications, each candidate will participate in an interview by a sub committee of the Fraternity. The final scholarship recipient list will be generated following the interviews.
