The Financial Statement Analysis Model consists of several Excel worksheets designed to do a complete financial statement and cash flow analysis of a company. Three years of balance sheet and income statement data are necessary to make the model run.

To run the model:

• Open INPUTCO.XLS Enter the balance sheet and income statement data. Save it on your desktop using the company’s name. There is a sample file, TECH80, already saved for your use.

• Save your file again as INPUTCO.XLS If you already have a copy of INPUTCO.XLS saved on your desktop and program asks you if you wish to replace the existing INPUTCO.XLS Respond Yes.

• Leave INPUTCO.XLS open.

• Open ANALYSIS.XLS and save it on your desktop. This file is an Excel workbook consisting of several worksheets. Each worksheet is a different analysis report. Cells in the workbook are all linked to ANALYSIS.XLS. The workbook will automatically do its own calculations and complete the worksheets corresponding to the analysis reports.

• Special Note: If ANALYSIS.XLS doesn't properly link to INPUTCO.XLS, change the links on ANALYSIS.XLS as follows: Under "edit", click on "links". When the links window opens, click on "change source." When the change links window opens, click on "Inputco," which should be open on your desktop and click "ok". The links used by ANALYSIS.XLS should automatically change.

• Print the worksheets from the ANALYSIS.XLS and INPUTCO.XLS workbooks. Close ANALYSIS.XLS.

• We’d appreciate learning of noted errors and suggestions for change. Contact me through my Email address.
