KENTUCKY SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION November 7, 2014 FRANKFORT, KENTUCKY

Meeting called to order at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Sheriff Chuck Korzenborn called role. Sheriff’s absent: Sheriff Peoples, Sheriff Cain, Sheriff Gaines, Sheriff Marcum, Sheriff Hammond, Sheriff Melton, and Sheriff Whittaker. Colonel Morgan certified a quorum.

Motion was made by Sheriff Wright and seconded by Sheriff Perdue to excuse the absent board members. Motion was approved unanimously.

MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING

A motion to approve the made by Sheriff Matthews and seconded by Sheriff Cain to approve the minutes of the prior meeting as written. Motion was approved unanimously.

Welcome all guest and Sheriffs in attendances.

Upcoming Conferences

KSA 2014 conference agenda will be released in the near future. The Board members rooms have been booked. All others should call the hotel to get their rooms booked.

If you neighbor a county with a newly elected Sheriff reach out to them and get them involved with the KSA. . KACO conference will be held November 19- 21 in Lexington KY

Committee Meetings will be held upon adjournment.

KSA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S REPORT KSA BOYS/GIRLS RANCH REPORT KSA Executive Director Wagner Report

KSA Director Wagner –Every 4 years it gets tough at the ranch finically, Sheriff Wright along with others went to Paul Miller Ford to inquire about a vehicle being donated to the KSA Boys and Girls Ranch for a fund raiser. After negations Paul Miller would not donate a vehicle but offered a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck to the KSA for the price of $30,487.50 this $15,000 off the sticker price. (See Quote)

Freedom Dodge sent a verbal quote to the KSA for a 2015 Ram 1500 at the price of $31,507.00

After discussion by the board it was decide to go with Paul Miller Ford, Sheriff Williams made the motion that the KSA write a check in the full amount to Paul Miller Ford and that the Ranch reimburse the KSA when the money from the sale of chances come in. The motion was 2nd by Sheriff Hampton. Motion was approved unanimously.

The price of the chances sold will be determined at the November 19, 2014 KSA board meeting.
