CESAR CHAVEZ HOLIDAY

DCFS will observe the Cesar Chavez Holiday on March 27, 2017. However, the Superior Court will remain open as they observe the holiday on Friday, March 31st. Therefore, DCFS staff assigned to the Children’s Court and IDC will be working on Monday, March 27th.

Reports for Court Hearings on March 27 th Please refer to current policy, 0300-308.07, Time Frames for Submission of Court Reports. All reports must be in the court room two days prior to the March 27, 2017 hearing date, allowing time for Court staff to review reports and obtain any missing information.

The ONLY exception to this is the submission of Last Minute Information to the court

Petition filings IDC staff will be working on Monday, March 27, 2017 and will be preparing petitions to be heard on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.

Regional Offices All Detention reports for petitions to be prepared on Monday, March 27, 2017, must be submitted to IDC by Friday, March 24, 2017.

Shelter Care and Transportation Children will be transported to court for hearings

Specific information needed when submitting Transportation and Shelter Care Requests:  In the notes section of the Transportation/Shelter Care on-line template include the specific name(s) and reachable Contact telephone numbers of the person(s) dropping off and picking up children at the Pomona office who are coming from and returning to placements out-of-county.

CSWs/Person making Transportation or Shelter Care arrangements should inform caregivers of the following:  Person(s) dropping off and picking up children must be 18 + years of age and have a picture identification available to show to the Transportation Worker, especially at the time of the child’s release after court.  Caregivers will receive a telephone call from Court Transportation informing them of the estimated arrival time of Court Transportation to the Pomona DCFS office. Their arrival must be prompt.

New Detentions  Will be taken to the Command Post. A contact person to coordinate receiving these minors is needed. Note: These cases usually are heard late in the afternoons (3:00 pm +) and may include multiple children, infants and sibling groups.
