Homework Chart for the Week of 5-1-17 Practice reading and spelling the Most Frequently Used Words: first, water, been, oil, find We will read a Fantasy Text this week called: “The Kite” from Days With Frog and Toad. Our target skill is Story Structure. Our target strategy is to Infer/Predict. The spelling pattern for the week is words with long i using –igh, -y, and -ie Day 2-Library **The Spelling List is on the back of this Chart**
Monday Spelling: Write each of your spelling words three Parent Signature: times each including the bonus word
______Math: Chapter 11 P223 & P224 (Chapter 11 Assessment tomorrow)
Day 3-Gym Spelling: Choose 4 spelling words and write a Tuesday sentence for each word Parent Signature: *Read each night for 15 minutes and color in a flower on your May Reading Log ______Day 4-Art Spelling: Making Words-“Make the word, Read the word, Write the word”—make your spelling words Wednesday plus any other words you are able to make using the Parent Signature: letters provided
______Math: Chapter 12 P227 & P228
Day 1-Music Spelling: Practice spelling your spelling words any Thursday way you choose. Parent Signature: Math: Chapter 12 P229 & P230 (you will need a blue and red crayon)
*Tomorrow is Day 2. We will have Library. First Grade News: Our caterpillars are eating so much mallow! They are growing quickly ach day! Reminders: Please Sign/Return your child’s Chapter 11 Math Assessment Read the Elementary Math Parent Letter introducing Unit 6/Chapter 12 First Grade Field Trip to The Academy of Natural Sciences will be on Tuesday, May 9th. A letter will go home on Monday with some special reminders
