Call to Order: President Don Powell called the meeting to order at 11:40 a.m. and asked first-time visitors to introduce themselves.

Membership Report: There are 262 paid memberships to date for 2016.

Minutes: Don Powell asked for a vote to approve the minutes from the September 21, 2016 General Membership Meeting. The vote carried and the minutes were approved with one correction to the time of Candlelight Night.

Meeting Sponsor:  Amy Webb of Saratoga Benefits gave a presentation about her company and its services.

Guest Speakers--Remarks from Phil Garwood, Mike Locatell, and Victoria Napolitano, Republican nominees for Moorestown Town Council.

MBA Events Update:  MBA Meetings and Special Events: o Spirit of Philadelphia Social Outing (6:30-9:30, 10/20/16) o The next MBA Board meeting (11:30 a.m., 11/2/16) First Baptist Church. Members are welcome to attend. o The next MBA Happy Hour (5:30-7:30 p.m., 11/10/16): at Republic Bank. o The next General Membership Meeting (11:30 a.m., 11/16/16) Thomas’s Restaurant, Main Street.  MBA 2016 Town-wide events: o Halloween Parade (3 – 6 p.m. 10/23/16) Main Street/Stokes Hill, chaired by Brian Cooper; a convertible is needed for the event. o Candlelight Night (5 – 9 p.m. 11/4/16) Main Street. Event chair Steven Pazienza provided an update of event plans, including the “Where’s Nipper” contest and carriage rides.  Other Important Town-Wide Meetings and Events: o Moorestown Open Studio Tours (MOST) (10 a.m.-3 p.m., 10/22/16) sponsored by Sustainable Moorestown’s Moorestown Creates! Committee and Perkins Center for the Arts; SM Chair Wolf Skacel provided event details. o Election Day (11/8/16). o Plaid Business Day (11/25/16). o Small Business Saturday (11/26/16).

Old Business / New Business:  Don Powell reported that the MBA Member Survey has been emailed, and encouraged all members to complete it.  Members of the MBA Board met with township officials Oct. 19 to review a list of recommendations from the MBA about a variety of issues that impact Moorestown business owners.  December elections: the MBA will have 6 open seats in 2017. Don Powell asked members to consider volunteering to serve.
