Background

Now that the Extrusion Summit has entered its fifth year, we thought it is best to continue with the theme of issues that are of interest to the entire industry segment, viz. the Market, Technology, Equipment, and Applications. This would invite participation and interaction from all the people connected with extrusion in their respective fields, and this would lead to an efficient way of doing business and exchanging ideas at one single forum. You will meet extruders, alloy manufacturers, primary producers, equipment manufacturers, and the users of extruded products from a variety of application segments.

India the Fastest Growing Marketplace With a buoyant economy (see the box ) supported by a large population of middle class and rapid urbanization, India is now the world's 6th largest economy by size and it ranks 3rd on purchasing power and parity basis. Currently there is a boom in the property markets with a thrust in this area, as housing is one of the basic needs; it pulls along with it all the other sectors, such as Automotive, Engineering, Power/ Electricity, Infra-structure all of which leads to a growing demand for extrusions. In short, India is 'THE MARKET PLACE' that you simply cannot miss !

The Summit

It has been decided to take this initiative and hold the Extrusion Summit, to bring together the entire business community along with the leaders in respective fields such as policy makers, manufacturers, technology providers, consultants, buyers and customers, to deliberate on the future of this business, and explore new avenues that are opening up in line with the all round growth. Apart from providing a forum to the community to discuss and interact on these, the Extrusion Summit would also provide opportunities for exchange of ideas amongst players operating in different products / markets and technology segments that could be a fertile ground for cross-technology breeding leading to newer possibilities.
