Nob Hill Business Association General Meeting Minutes May 19, 2010 8:30 AM Holiday Inn Express

The meeting was called to order by Ron Gulley, President. 1. Welcome and introductions. Ron thanked Valerie from Food Front for the tasty treats. 2. NW 32 TV: Michelle Blake from NW 32 TV presented a spring into summer advertising program for the popular tv station with very similar demographics to Portland. The average viewer age is 38, both women and men, trendsetters for fashion, music and entertainment. Michelle presented 2 options, all day vs. evening ads. For more info email Michelle at [email protected] or call 503-544-6333. 3. Baldwin Consulting: Gwen Baldwin gave us an overview and update on the NW Parking Plan which is part of the NW District Plan. Mayer Adams wants to reopen the discussion and get it back on the table and potentially make changes to the agreed upon 2003 plan. Glen expressed that the timing is very poor in that the street just reopened and the businesses need to recover. She also expressed frustration over the mayor’s decision to reopen the discussion, implement a new economic study of the area, and potentially change the plan that was fully approved in 2003. One member commented that much has happened since 2003 and thought that it should be re-evaluated. Another member commented that feathers have been ruffled due to different goals for the neighborhood- a regional shopping area or a self-contained business district geared to the people that live here. Peggy Anderson is attending the mayor’s meeting and commented that many of the original stakeholders are extremely frustrated and have pulled out. 4. CoHo Productions: Scott Stephens presented the group with new look at CoHo productions. Currently This Lime Tree Bower will be playing until June 12. Then they will launch their summer program which will include several fun productions. Scott offered all assn members 2 for 1 tickets by using the code words Nob Hill when ordering. He also invited us to come as a group and he will provide a wine and cheese reception prior to the show. For online info go to cohoproductions.org or call 503-205- 0715. That you, Scott! 5. May Food Drive: Blaine reported that the drive is going great guns. The highlight last week was a Legacy nurse’s contest and collected 3600 lbs of food and $400 cash. Congratulations! 30 barrels at key businesses around the neighborhood, several raffle baskets, Food Front point of sale are all contributing to the success of the drive. 6. Other business: Sanctuary of Portland, a wellness center is joining the association and all assn members will receive a 20% discount on any service on the 1st visit and 10% off on all future visits. Thank you Arielle! The NW 23rd Avenue Street A-Fair is developing nicely and several association members are involved and committed to helping NW23rd celebrate the completion of the reconstruction.
