5. Changes around us:

a. Widening of East Pecan Speaker: Joe Carpenter, City of Pflugerville Engineer

Widening of Pecan Street will start in the fall or winter of 2007.

 The City is still in the process of acquiring land and a gas line still needs to be relocated. The old power lines and wires need to be removed. A new water line is currently being installed on East Pecan. Once this is all taken care of the job will go out for bid. Construction will take about 18 months and will start on the south side of Pecan. The Bohls subdivision entrances will remain open throughout the construction.

 During construction there will be signs prohibiting construction traffic in our neighborhoods. If you see construction vehicles cutting through contact Joe Carpenter at [email protected] or 251-2679 with a description of the vehicle.

 Along with the widening of Pecan the hike and bike trail will be extended from the County Metro Park to Immanuel. There will be pedestrian crossing lights installed on all 4 corners at the intersection of Pecan and Immanuel / Old Hutto. The intersection will be ADA compliant when completed.

 Trees and foliage outside the fences of the homes in Bohls Place that back up to Pecan Street will be removed during the road construction. A sidewalk will be installed approximately 2-4 ft from the fences and then smaller shrubs will be planted. If there is any damage to the fences during this process the City and/or County will pay to have the fences repaired. This will all start to take place approximately 9 months after the project begins.

 A question was asked if a noise barrier fence was going to be installed. The answer was after the Pecan Street construction was finished

BNA 2007 Annual Meeting Print: 4/26/2018 Page 2 of 5 residents could ask City Council to perform noise readings to see if we would qualify for the sound barriers.
