NEWSLETTER JULY 2011 CLUBHOUSE
The clubhouse will open again on Tuesday 26 July and will be open from 18:00 until 20:00 on Tuesdays. There will be 4km and 8km Time Trials starting at 18H00. Times will be published in the Citizen and Alberton Record. Members are still welcome to meet at the club on Thursdays to run but the clubhouse will not be open. Admin (Registration Licenses) will be available on Tuesday evenings from 18:15 until 19:00
CLUB KIT
New running vests and shorts are in stock and will be for sale at the clubhouse on Tuesday evenings. Junior tracksuits will be available from August.
SMS COMMUNICATION
From time to time you may receive sms communication from the club. If it requires a response please feel free to reply on the sms as it gets sent from the club’s cellphone contract by Noeline and she accumulates all the responses.

The club was saddened by the death of one of our members – Jeff Law on the 18th of June due to a motorbike accident. Our thoughts are still with Jeff’s family.
CLUBHOUSE REPAIRS
Thanks to Andries Venter, Glyn Rynhoud and Gert Cornelius for offering up the entire weekend of the 18th and 19th of June to repair the clubhouse roof which was partially blown off in a storm.
SA 10km CHAMPIONSHIPS – 22 MAY 2011
AAAC hosted two water-points at the SA 10km championships at Germiston Stadium on 22 May 2011. Thanks to all the members and their families who volunteered to help at this event. The club will be hosting the annual AAAC cross country league feature at Alberton Dam on Saturday 6 August. Volunteers are needed to help with route marking and marshalling. Congratulations to all our club members who took part in this year’s Comrades Marathon on 29 May 2011. Special Thanks to Elsie Blignaut (Noeline’s mom), Elna Bezuidenhout and family and Shaun Naidoo for the help at the 60km supporter tent and the finish tent. A prize-giving and social will be held on Saturday 13 August. More details will follow. Each club Comrades runner who attends this prize-giving will receive a special club DVD containing video and photo footage of each AAAC finisher.
