Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Technological Plasma Physics

£36,862 - £59,154 pa

You will be enthusiastic with a proven track record and a reputation for excellence in plasma discharge research or a closely related area. You will play a major role in the technological plasma research group activities and contribute to the experimental and/or modelling research work. In particular, we are looking for excellent knowledge and practical experience in one of more of the following areas; optical diagnostics for plasmas, plasma mass spectrometry, THz generation using plasmas, THz and microwave-based plasma diagnostics and the modelling/simulation of plasma discharges. The role will include seeking research funding to develop your own lines of research complementary to that of the group and also to represent the group at international and national meetings. You will have a doctorate degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or a related subject and will be expected to contribute to the teaching activities of the School.

The Technological Plasma group currently consists of one Professor, a Senior Lecturer, a Lecturer, a Senior Experimental Officer, a shared technician, 3 Post doctoral workers, and 10 students. The new Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will have access on a day to day basis to the SEO and technical staff.
