September 11, 2015

Dear Drum Point Families, The Drum Point Elementary school will once again be participating in the School Holiday Hunger Challenge. Beginning on September 21 and ending November 23, 2015 we will be collecting items found on the back of this letter to help provide food for those in need. Please donate what you can to support this important cause. Once again, this year we will have a challenge at Drum Point to see which class collects the greatest number of items. Last year we generously collected over 1,500 pounds of food, let’s see if we can break that tremendous record! The Hunger Challenge is a true testament to the compassion of students, parents and teachers who come together to take on this challenge. Over the past five years Drum Point Elementary school has been honored multiple times with the Early Bird award and the Philip N. Connelly Spirit of Giving award from the Monmouth and Ocean County Foodbank. The collected food will be distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters for the homeless, shelters for victims of domestic violence, programs for youth, daycare and residential programs for children, the disabled and elderly in your town and others throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Sincerely,

Allison McConnell Tracy, Principal Jeanene Gibbs, Assistant Principal Gail Bray, Early Act Coordinator The Drum Point Early Act GUIDELINES
