Dr. Peter Tuerk July 2013 – July 2014 Predoctoral Intern Examined factors that impact treatment outcomes in a specialty clinic for the treatment of PTSD. Research focused on incorporation of psychophysiology data to predict treatment outcomes and drop out from prologue exposure treatment and cognitive processing therapy.
Dr. Karen Calhoun September 2008 – August 2014 Graduate Student Researched the causes, consequences, and prevention of sexual aggression. Specifically: Victims of sexual aggression, especially consequences such as PTSD and risk of revictimization, and characteristics of sexually aggressive men, including personality, attitudes and social behavior.
Dr. Lyn Abramson May 2005 – May 2007 Research Assistant & Honors Senior Thesis Examined the cognitive, motivational, and cultural determinants of information processing about the self and how these concepts are related to vulnerability and invulnerability to depression. As part of Honors Senior Thesis, examined the effect of cognitive and environmental factors on the course of Bipolar disorder.
Dr. Arthur Glenberg September 2004 – May 2007 Research Assistant Designed and conducted experiments to test the embodied theory of cognition. Work specifically focused on how language comprehension utilizes knowledge of and experience with actions; how linguistic structures coordinate with action-based knowledge to result in language comprehension; and how emotion interacts with action tendencies as well as past bodily experiences

Promoting Awareness Victim Empowerment September 2006 – August 2008 Peer Education Facilitator Facilitated discussions about sexual assault in classrooms, fraternities, sororities, dorms and club meetings around Madison Wisconsin. Ultimately created a program at a local domestic abuse shelter to have monthly information sessions about sexual assault.
