Revelation 7x7 Lesson #6 – God’s Wrath Instructions: 1. Read through the outline below. 2. Where it says Read, go to your Bible and read the scripture indicated. 3. Download and study the Handout as indicated. 4. When you’re finished, answer the questions at the end of the lesson.
Vision #4 – Chapters 8 & 9 - “God’s Wrath Announced” Vision #7 – Chapters 15 & 16 – “God’s Wrath Demonstrated” 1. God’s wrath is spoken of in two (2) places in the Revelation a) Chapters 8 & 9 list the trumpets that announce God’s wrath b) Chapters 15 & 16 list the vials that fulfill, or demonstrate, the wrath c) God’s wrath being poured out is the 7th and last of the series of 7 visions d) The trumpets and vials are comparable - they tell about the same things 2. When we compare the trumpets and vials 3. We will see two (2) things: a) We will see that the scope of God’s wrath will be thorough b) We will see the powers and principalities behind the need for the wrath [Download and study Handout: 7 Trumpets and 7 Vials of Revelation] 4. Let’s look at each of these: 5. The Scope of God’s Wrath a) His wrath will affect the trees and green grass (Rev. 8:7) b) The sea, the creatures in the sea, and the ships on the sea (Rev. 8:8-9 & 16:3) c) The rivers and fountains of waters (Rev. 8:10-11 & 16:4) d) The sun, the moon, and the stars (Rev. 8:12) e) God will put a “grievous sore” on those who have taken the Mark of the Beast (Rev. 16:2) f) Locusts (little demons) will be loosed to hurt those without God’s seal in their foreheads (Rev. 9:4 & 16:10) g) Four (4) dark angels will be loosed with plagues of fire, smoke, and brimstone (Rev. 9:14, 17-18) h) And the water of the Euphrates River will be dried up (Rev. 16:12) 6. The Powers and Principalities behind the need for the wrath a) In the End Time b) Six (6) dark angels will be loosed 1) The first is called Wormwood (Rev. 8:11) a. He affects the waters b. And makes men bitter 2) The second is called Abaddon or Apollyon (the destroyer) a. He’s the king of the bottomless pit (Rev. 9:11)
1 b. He’s the one that lets the Locusts (little demons) out of the pit (Rev. 9:2-3) 3) The last four are not named a. They’re loosed out of the river Euphrates (Rev. 9:14) b. They have an army of “two hundred thousand thousand” (Rev. 9:16) c. And they kill men with fire, smoke, and brimstone (Rev. 9:18) 7. It will not be an easy time! 8. But, remember - God will care for His people 9. His wrath will be poured out on the wicked – 10. But, we will be here to see it 11. Let me show you that in the Psalms [Read: Psalm 91:5-8 – “Thou shalt not be afraid…A thousand shall fall at thy side…but it will not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked”] [Finish with: Psalm 91:2 – “I will say of the Lord…in him will I trust”]
