AMERICAN REVOLUTION ACTIVITIES

REVOLUTION RECIPE Investigate the revolution. Discover the causes of the Revolution. Think PERSIA (Political, Economic, Religious, Social, Intellectual, & Artistic)

Generate a list of cooking terms (blend, boil, simmer, etc)

Use the list of cooking verbs & combine those with the list of Ingredients (Causes) to create a “Recipe for Revolution.” Remember to give it a clever title 

Example: Sons of LiberTEA Ingredients: Heavy taxes Enlightenment Ideology Boston Massacre Stamp Act of 1765 British Economic Interference … & a little Common Sense

Directions: Set a cup of Enlightenment Ideology to boil. Add a pound of heavy taxes & allow natural resentment to seep out. Spice it up with a little Boston Massacre. For a whiter tea dilute with Stamp Act & Economic Interference. Your tea will not be boiling hot so before sipping, use a little…. Common Sense!

REVOLUTION PROPAGANDA Consider the various injustices the colonists are/have endured prior to & during the Revolution. Select one or multiple causes to use as inspiration for your revolution propaganda. Your propaganda should:

. Be colorful . Be creative (either a catchy phrase or concept) . Deal with the American Revolution . Attempt to encourage/persuade people to believe, think, &/or act a certain way . It may be drawn by hand or using computer images

Example: “Taxes on Tea are stirring up the peace. Taxes are not our cup of Tea!”
