In addition to the above membership, I would like to make an additional tax-deductible contribution to support the society in the amount of $______. The Cochise County Historical Society was founded in 1966, and was incorporated under the Laws of the State of Arizona on September 13, 1968. Its tax-exempt status is under Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, granted on December 17, 1971. CCHS seeks to promote the study of history in Cochise County; to gather and protect the facts of the past; and to publish or otherwise make available the information obtained by the Society. CCHS is affiliated with the Arizona Historical Society. Members of CCHS agree to respect and uphold the Antiquity Laws of the State of Arizona and the United States.
Members receive an issue of all CCHS publications during the calendar year. Currently, CCHS publishes two issues per year of the Cochise County Historical Journal. Members are also entitled to vote for the election of officers at the Annual Meeting held on the first Sunday of December.
Membership contributions help support other historical activities of the society, such as maintaining an extensive photograph collection, placing plaques at historical sites, and educational and school activities. The office of CCHS is located in the Douglas/Williams House in Douglas, AZ. CCHS has no paid staff and is made up volunteers only. CCHS encourages participation from all its members. Your continued support is gratefully appreciated.
