Carolina Jaguar Club Concours 2004

CAROLINA JAGUAR CLUB – CONCOURS 2004

The Carolina Jaguar Club will hold its annual concours on Sunday, June 13th at Dan Nicholas Park 8 miles east of Salisbury, NC. This year’s event will be held in conjunction with British Car Days South (BCDS), an all-marque British car show sponsored this year by the Carolinas Austin-Healey Club. The beautiful 410-acre park with lake is a new venue for BCDS after 27 years at Tanglewood Park in Winston Salem.

Jaguar judging will be similar to that used last year at Autumn in the Mountains. All entrants can cast popular votes for Jaguars in 8 classes defined by BCDS, and all Jaguar entrants can cast popular votes for Jaguars using JCNA’s Champion classes. Those Jaguars desiring to compete for JCNA awards with judging to JCNA standards may indicate your intentions on our registration form. Current concours rules with AGM changes were posted on JCNA.com April 1.

We are blessed again this year with sponsorship from one of our fine Carolina dealers, Scott Jaguar in Charlotte. Therefore when you register there will be NO FEE to participate in the Jaguar judging and awards. BUT entrants must register for British Car Day South, the host event, for only $12 ($15 at show). You must register separately for both events and early registration will help the organizers. Both forms are here on JCNA.com; go to the event on the JCNA schedule and click where directed in the RH column. For show information visit the BCDS website, www.carolinahealeys.com/bcds.htm.

On Saturday, June 12 the host club will have a guided driving tour in the Salisbury area. The driver’s meeting will be at 11:30 at the Holiday Inn on Jake Alexander Blvd. about ½ mile west of I-85. Alternatively, explore the historic Salisbury, founded in 1753. Start with the city’s ambitious web site, www.ci.salisbury.nc.us, Visitor Tab, and read about walking tours with audio recording of the historic homes district, the only Confederate prison in NC, or the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame. The nearby NC Transportation Museum in Spencer features old locomotives and the Southern Railway’s 38-bay roundhouse; but entrants at the National Studebaker Drivers Club concours to be held there Thursday will be gone by Saturday.

Please, come and join us for a fun-filled event, Carolina Club style!
