EGOLF CLASSIFICATION DATABASE

The EGOLF CLASSIFICATION DATABASE is a ‘one-stop’ source of product information on both CE marked and non-CE marked construction products. It gives detailed information of the fire classifications produced by EGOLF member laboratories across Europe for products tested and classified according to European standards. EGOLF is the European Group of Organisations for Fire testing, Inspection and Certification [www.egolf.org.uk].

The EGOLF Classification Database:

 Allows visitors to search on the basis of: classification type, product family/sub-family, country of supply and country of test laboratory.  Provides for simple comparisons of the fire behaviour of products and materials in the same family  Gives contact information of manufacturers  Provides for manufacturers wide ranging publicity for their products  Provides a tool for market surveillance for end-users

Who is it aimed at?

The database can be used by anyone who registers, but is aimed at:

 Architects, specifiers and contractors wanting to find out about products with a particular fire performance  Enforcement authorities wanting to confirm the validity of classifications  Manufacturers wanting to verify their claims on product classifications to the market.

How it works

Entering details of products is simple and free. You just ask the laboratory who undertook your test and classification to publish them on the EGOLF website. You can do that for all construction products using the form at the end of this leaflet. Send the completed form to the EGOLF laboratory that undertakes the test/classification. Alternatively, permission can be given for a single construction product on a case by case basis. For single construction products you will need to complete a ‘permission to publish’ form sent to you by the laboratory each time they generate a classification on your behalf.

To view the database now, visit www.egolf.org.uk and click on ‘Classification Database and Members Area Login’. Follow the onscreen instructions for registering and you will be a sent a password.

How to proceed

Contact your local EGOLF member laboratory or fill in the general permission to publish form below and send it to the EGOLF laboratory(ies) who undertake your tests.
