Travel Basketball Program (Grades 4 - 8) Basketball travel teams are planned for Boys and Girls. All registered youth (subject to the rules of our travel leagues) are eligible to try-out for a travel team. These more competitive travel teams require an added time commitment and additional fees ($250 plus uniforms and some tournament fees). All boys and girls interested in the travel program should indicate their intentions when registering. Players that make travel teams are still eligible to play in the recreational program. The $250 travel cost includes both programs.

The Travel Program will conduct tryouts in October, 2016. If any player does not make the travel team, your registration fee will be refunded. Registered players will be emailed in October once the tryout dates are confirmed. All players must be registered to receive notices. Register online: www.tyngsboroughrec.com

Recreational Basketball Program (Grades 3-8 In-Town) Recreational program participants will play twice per week, including practice sessions, during the season. Evaluations for team placement will be held in late early November with league games scheduled beginning in December. Format includes separate Boys and Girls leagues at the Elementary School (Grades 3-5) and Middle School (Grades 6-8) levels. Registered players will be emailed in October once the evaluation dates are confirmed.

Instructional Program (Grades 1-2 In-Town) This Saturday Morning Instructional Program for Grades 1-2 Girls (8-9AM) and Grades 1-2 Boys (9- 10AM) will begin on December at the Tyngsborough Elementary School. These programs will introduce and teach instructional-level basketball skills. Registered players will be emailed in December once the program dates are confirmed.

Little All Stars (Pre-school and Kindergarten In-Town) This Pre-school and Kindergartener program will be held on Tuesday’s at 5:00PM at The Tyngsborough Elementary School. This fun-filled group will include many activities all focused on the game of basketball. There is a $5.00 registration fee to cover some of the cost of the program. The program will start in December. The registered players will be emailed in November once the program Start date is confirmed.

Fee Schedule: Preschool and Kindergartner Program: Per Child: $5.00 Grades 1-2 Instructional Program: Early Registration $40.00; After June 1 $65.00* Grades 3-9 Recreational Program: Early Registration $90.00; After June 1 $115.00* Family Cap: $250 (Excludes the Travel Fee-see below)

Boys Competitive Travel Teams Grades 4-8: $250.00 (plus uniforms and some tournament fees)* Girls Competitive Travel Teams Grades 4-8: $250.00 (plus uniforms and some tournament fees)* * Early registration cut-off is June 1. A $25.00 late fee applies (exclusion for the Little Stars Program will be made) after June 1, 2016 and the participants maybe waitlisted. The entire Travel fee to be paid after tryouts and selections are made. The entire travel fee must be paid prior to the first practice. When registering for Travel teams either pay the entire $250.00 fee or at least $90.00 or indicate want to tryout for Travel when registering if paying the $90.00 fee. There is a Family Cap of $250 for the Recreational program fee only. For travel program participants, the second family member cost is $175 and $125 for additional family members.

Sign up early, as space may be limited. All programs are on a “first-come-first-serve” basis. Registration may be limited due to space or staff-to-participant ratio. Late registration may be accepted subject to availability.

Refund Policy – Refunds will be allowed up to 2 weeks before the start of a program with a $25 cancellation fee. If the program cost is less than $25 the cancellation charge will only be the program cost. There are no refunds inside of this deadline. Late fees are non-refundable. Refunds may take up to 60 days. Advanced registration is required for all programs. The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel classes or programs.

Scholarship Requests - The Recreation Department will consider requests for program scholarships within the financial constraints imposed by the committee and the program’s availability. Normal requests would be limited to one to two programs per season per person and must be submitted within the normal registration period for the program being requested.
