2017/2018 ACADEMIC YEAR …… PRIMARY SCHOOL GRADE 2 ENGLISH DAILY LESSON PLAN

Grade: 2 Duration: 40+40 minutes

Topic: In the classroom

Materials: a course book, PC, listening tracks, authentic materials

Methods and techniques: Communication approach, question and answer teaching method, audio lingual method, games, TPR

Aim of the lesson: To encourage the students to do the actions, make and practice on a daily classroom dialogue etc.

OBJECTIVES

1. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand what the meaning of classroom instructions like sit down, stand up and turning right and left 2. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the classroom instructions. 3. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to make and act a daily dialogue that is made in the classroom among the teacher and the students Activities:

 The teacher does the past unit revision in the lesson by telling the class his name in English and asking their names.  At the very beginning of the lesson the teacher says the students ,stand up, and holds his hand up in order to let the students to do the action. Secondly, he tells the students, sit down and drops this hand and lets the pupils to do the action. Repeatedly the teacher practices this again and again like the game deve-cüce in Turkish.  As the teacher goes on the lesson by telling the students about the lef and right sides in Turkish. Later on the teacher stands facing the board and lets the pupils by letting them stand up. As the teacher says “turn right “ and “turn left” he acts out the action. The pupils are supposed to do it following the teacher. In different numbers and sides the teacher practices it many times till the pupils are fond of the actions.  The teacher wants the students open page 42 and follow the pictures of the listening track 8 by turning on the track on that page. Then he lets the pupils listen and act out on track 9.  On page 43, teacher picks a student in front of the classroom and lets him/her to let the frients to act out what s/he says as instruction.  Before 44 and 45, the teacher acts out the picture story by help of two of the pupils in the class for 2 times at least. Later he asks pupils to open pages 44-45 and look at the picture story. Then he turns on the track 10 to let the students hear the whole dialogue in the picture story.
