AST Attendance and Tardy Policy 2005-2006

AST Dress Code Policy “Professional Dress” 2009-2010

The classroom/lab activities of the Automotive Service Technology class reflect the world of work. The wearing of professional clothing ready to work and participate in the day’s activity is a learned procedure. An employee that is on time, dressed for the profession and prepared for work will have the job when others are let go or fired for failure to comply. Excuses are of little value in the marketplace. Safety is the reason we have a tighter dress code in the lab. We will follow Bibb County Board rules with the procedure outlined.

1. Gentlemen will wear shirts and pants of the correct size with a belt. Pants will be worn at the top of the hipbones at the proper level for safety, not loose! Shirts will be tucked in at all times. Males will wear shirts that will stay tucked in during work activities. Fluffed shirts are not acceptable. Any showing of underwear is prohibited. 2. Ladies will wear clothing that they can be active in without compromise of modesty. 3. No jogging suits or “warm up” type loose clothing. No polyester or plastic garments, i.e. fire hazard. 4. All learners will wear clothing that may get grease and grime from automobiles and not hinder your shop activities. 5. Footwear cannot be open toe or sandals. Shoes with out heel support are not allowed. Heels over one inch are not allowed. Steel toe shoes recommended. 6. All clothing will not have any hanging, loose or as seen by instructor dangerous attachment. Example chains, ear wear, jewelry, shoelaces or straps loose. 7. Students are encouraged to purchase shop clothes for the lab activities. 8. Failure to comply may result in your removal from the lab. 9. Metal items worn on your person that are visible such as; ring, bracelets, watchbands and chains must be removed.

Lockers are provided. First come, first serve. If you bring a lock put your name on locker. The lockers are for clothing not valuables.
